I have created a replacement for this plugin, compatible with Joomla! 1.5 natively and has several big improvements. Version 2.1.5 now has a "Current URL" option to submit the current URL instead of trying to build a "permalink" URL for each content item. This should resolve any issues with websites using multiple components which change the Joomla! core URLs. It includes buttons for Digg, Reddit, Del.icio.us, Google Bookmarks, Windows Live, Facebook, Slashdot, Netscape, Technorati, StumbleUpon, Spurl, Wists, Simpy, Newsline, Blinklist, Furl, Fark, Blogmarks, Yahoo! Bookmarks, Smarking, Netvouz, Shadows, RawSugar, Ma.gnolia, PlugIM, Squidoo, BlogMemes, FeedMeLinks, BlinkBits, Tailrank and linkaGoGo. It also includes advanced "smart" buttons for Digg, Reddit and Del.icio.us. The SocialBookmarkerBot submits "permalink" URLs to ensure the correct link is provided every time, while other plugins will submit the currently displayed URL. They can be dangerous because Joomla! URLs change depending on how a visitor clicked into a page, and your visitors will unknowingly submit multiple pages for a single article on your website. This will confuse your visitors and will dilute your votes on Digg and the other Social Bookmarking sites. Use this plugin to submit the correct URL every time. You can configure the SocialBookmarkerBot to add a Digg, Reddit or Del.icio.us "smart" button at the top right (or top left) of your content while also displaying a set of small bookmark buttons at the bottom of the page. It is compatible with SEF patches and plugins, and allows you to set manual URLs for each content item (useful for pages that have new URLs due to SEF plugins, or to bookmark a page or video located on a different website). The SocialBookmarkerBot allows you to decide whether to display the buttons only when viewing the full article, or also on the homepage and previews. For the homepage and previews, you now have the option to display just the top buttons, just the bottom buttons, all buttons or no buttons. This means that you could display a "smart" Digg button on the homepage content items, then also display the rest of the small buttons only when your visitors click "Read More". Updated version has added "nofollow" property to button links to avoid PageRank bleed. You now also have more control over the placement of the buttons. You can float the top buttons Left or Right, and align the bottom buttons Left, Center or Right. You can now set the description text, as well as control the width and color of the icon borders. You can also decide whether to display the buttons on regular content items only, static content items only, or on all content items.
