This component combines several security features and gives it central place to let other extension log unwanted behaviour. First is a flexible white/blacklist, which can separately set for site or admin section. You can easily make your Joomla! site a intranet sit by only allowing your intranet ip range or exclude intranet ranges to add security. Also granting certain ips access isn't that hard to maintain and you can leave a description on why so you will remember later. Second feature is a central logger for bad behaviour of ips. This way you have one central place to check which ips are being bad instead of going over several and comparing them. Several of our plugins ( http:BL and Bad Behavior ) will log to this component if set, but adding this ability to another extension is just a few lines of code.
