The Extensions site is designed to help users of Joomla! find the right tools to build their site. Across the site you will find information that will help you understand what a listing provides.

Links & Buttons

  Takes you to the listing own home page.

  If one is available, will redirect to a demo of the listing.

  Allows you to rate the listing based on how much you liked/disliked it.

  Provides a form for you to submit a review of the listing.

  Provides a form from which you can send a link to the listing to another person via email.

Extension Types

  Component :: mini-application to render the main page body

  Module :: renders small html blocks on any page

  Plugin :: changes code behavior dynamically (renamed from mambot)

  Language :: provides language translation

Compatibility

Its important to make sure your getting an extension that is compatible with the version of Joomla! you are running. If the extension is compatible with mutliple versions of Joomla!, you need to check if there are different versions of the extension for each.

  Item is suitable for Joomla! 1.0.x series.

  Item is suitable for Joomla! 1.5.x series.

License

It is important to note the license type to be sure that you understand the terms of use. Some licenses, for example, are free for non-profit use but require a fee for commercial use. Get to know how the license of the extension applies to you. 

Commercial License :: The extension is not licensed under an Open Source license and will most likely have a cost attached.
