Version 2.12 is available and added: multiple kml files, Simple directions on map, directions in lightbox and possibility to use print version of directions, streetview with button!, 3D and automatic control, lightbox out of infowindow, navigation label, Wiki & You tube layer & other, Yahoo pipes support, directions animation, tabbed infowindow, Earth control lookat & camera, ArcGis layer, Bird view, Google Indexing, Google Earth layers, labels on markers and dynamic content in Geoxml, switch off Earth and terrain maptype and to show kml sidebar in lightbox
Look at the demo site first for documentation. If you've problems please do the checklist on the demosite. If this doesn't help or you have questions or new wishes please send me an email with url that shows the problem and version of the plugin.
Usage:

(remove returns or < br /> when you copy this example)
You can change one of the parameters:
width, height You must put the units behind the number like 100% or 400px to whatever you want although if its too small, you won't see very much.
text is for the marker, that will show on the map with a balloon. If you don't want to see the text, just set text=" and it will not display, the text is the data displayed above the location pin. Usually it would be used to display an address or hyperlink. A hyperlink is possible use the format: linkName. Don't use (double) quotes!
tooltip is for the marker to have a tooltip when the mouse is on the marker (don't use HTML)
address is for a address to search for the coordinates (lon/lat has to be empty)
kml for is for the url of a kml-file reachable on the internet.

I have tried this extension with kml files on my site, it works flawlessly and it has a lot of parameters to work with.
Mike Reumer helped a lot for some settings I didn't know how to use.
Always keep in mind that if you use a good extension with no support, you will have hard times solving problems, this fine plugin has the best support I have found so far, and it's free. I got answered via e mail the same day I asked for help, my problem was solved at once.

This plugin is nothing short of amazing. I've used it on many sites, in many different formats. From a single point maps with directions to a multi point map using a custom KML file. A+++
One note: Google has started offering several map APIs which can be confusing. You can find the standard map API signup needed for this plugin here: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html The author may want to update the links in the component and help files.

The plugin works very well but the simple directions he has above are not complete and his website listings doesn't specially call out what you need to do. Besides installing the plugin and enabling it in the administrator panel you need to go to http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html and sign up using your domain name. You will also need a google account. The error by the plugin gives you a link but there aren't any links to sign up for a key. I found it by googling for the api key sign up page. What a pain google! You should know better!

If you are looking to add Google Maps to your Joomla website this extension is perfect. It has tons of features and it's super easy to configure. You can literally have it up and running within ten minutes.
I've been using this extension for about a year and a half and it works great.
SUPPORT:
I'm currently working on a website and I had one very minor, but strange issue, so I contacted Mike and he personal fixed it for me! I also inadvertently caused a conflict once, which was all my fault and Mike helped me fix that as well.

I've used this on several sites and its super easy to setup despite the incredible number of features available. I had an issue with the tooltip displaying incorrectly so I sent him an email and got a response within 24 hours with the fix (it was another component's CSS conflicting with it). Great extension with great support. What more could you ask for? Oh, yeah, it's free.

An excellent plugin, and a great addition to local business websites.
As a developer of many J! extensions, I can say that it was a matter of minutes to install and set this up.
The developer is very responsive, which also means that it is a good and reliable extension.

This plugin is great. But Map & Terrain not show in Chrome 5 browser. Only Hybrid is show.

I've tested it and I don't see the problem in chrome 5. Please send me an email so I can look into your problem and help you.
Also have a look at the Google Group for Google Maps API version 2 for known problems.

I really like this extension, is easy to integrate and I am glad to have selected this.

I sent the developer a question before I found the answer covered in the documentation. He responded within an hour and gave me a very helpful reply. I was expecting a "RTFM" reply at most, but he gave me a great example and wanted to make sure that I understood the answer.

I had a problem with adding multiple markers to my maps before I found this plugin. This plugin is truly easy to use.
It's very straight forward with it's documentation, and Mike was a great help when I needed it.
