For latest information check out JoomlaStats.org.
Please note that with the component we provide an engine for 3-rd party developers to have simple access to the statistics. We are even working on having more powerful routines that can be used. Check out available 3-rd party releases: http://www.joomlastats.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=5&Itemid=83
And of course we are working on Joomla 1.5 native compliant release with more developers than ever. Care to join also?

Yeah it's okay but i would have preferred something a bit more of something that would actually give me statistics rather than highlights of my website. Example : It gives you keywords people have used to find you're website but only tells you one of the words they used to find your website and if you click "expand all" it limits what you want to know (as i said before highlights)It's more of a fad than a useful statistics tool that tells you about 20% whats actually happening, but since i have no other option of a statistics tool i'll have to use this one which is why i gave it a fair rating. However once one of the better statistics tools becomes available for 1.5 i'm dumping this one straight away.
Summary
I would prefer something more useful than highlights. The stuff i don't care about is bloated and the stuff i do care about (charts, diagrams, Referers, keywords) is minimal or non existent. Which is a shame because it's really only one of the true joomla statistics which integrates well with 1.5 but cares more about telling you about live data than useful data.

I just installed JoomlaStats on my Joomla 1.5.9 site. The only thing I have done to make it work on Joomla 1.5 is to enable legacy mode.
The installation is very simple.
The only difficulty is probably the choose of what files to download because in the download site there are many links. For example I suggest to delete or put in an "old version" visitors by country module which has been replaced by mod_jstats_flags.
However, great work guys and many thanks making your work freely available to the community.

Whilst this component undoubtedly has some nice features, and it might be convenient to see your stats in Joomla, please be aware that a huge amount of data will be stored in your Joomla database. This can cause major problems if you try to move your site to another location at a later date. In my opinion, statistics as detailed as the ones provided by this component should be handled by a dedicated stats program (such as awStats), not a Joomla component - it is just not the right tool for the job.

This, I believe, the bust such component for Joomala. I have tried all the available stats components and this is the only one with this possibilietes.
Only one thing which make me queasy, is that all the links are sending POST data. It is not possible to open a link in new window. Every time when you want to go back, you will get the borwser message about resending POST data. It is very annoying.

what a pity. After updating to Joomla 1.5 I realize I should have waited until there is a version of JoomlaStats for 1.5...
Good job guys!

This is the best stats component I have used by some distance. Unfortunately, as it has not yet been upgraded to be 1.5 native, I can no longer use it.
It was only when I had to use other options that I realised just how good joomlastats is.
I hope that a 1.5 native version is being developed.

I got an error installing ver 2.2 on joomla 1.5.7 with legacy turned on. The error related to an "index.html" not found. The solution was to reset the permission to that file to 755 instead of 644.
Otherwise, this is a really good addition and I have had it as part of every joomla installation. Keep up the good work! Hoping to see a 1.5 native version of this soon.

I am using this component across all my 1.0 sites, because it gives me all the information I need. Simple and easy to install. I hope the developers will create a 1.5 version soon as there is no decent stats component for 1.5 yet.
Developers: Thank you for creating such a great extension!

This component is just great! I'm so happy I found it! It offers lots and lots of statistics even those you normally won't need :)
byaz_wraith on June 10, 2008
The component says that it works with Joomla 1.5 with legacy on. This is misleading because it does not work. None of the links in the backend of Joomla do not work.
Owner's reply
On some/many system configurations there are issue's running JoomlaStats on Joomla 1.5 legacy mode. We are rebuilding the code to have a Joomla 1.0x and Joomla 1.5x legacy compliant version (JoomlaStats 2.x) and a Joomla 1.5x native compliant version (3.x). For now we retracted the statement of being Joomla 1.5 legacy compliant.

For those like me too stupid to install a whole application to do this..
mysql --user=youruser --password=yourpass yourdbname
update jos_plugins set published=0 where element="bot_jstats_activate";
Then go and remove the bot ....
I'll try the module and see how it works
edits:
OK, so I de-installed the bot then installed the module for activtion and no problems (yet)

This component (version 2.2.1) does not work in Joomla 1.5 legacy if you activate the "bot_jstats_activate" mambot. You will be completely locked out of your site ("Restricted Access"). Instead insert the PHP code in the index file of your template (as mentioned in the installation instructions).
If you are locked out, here's a quick way of getting back in: with an application such as PhpMyAdmin go to the Joomla database, open the "jos-plugins" table and find the "bot_jstats_activate" record. Change the value in the "published" field from "1" to "0" for that record. Save the record.

This is my favourite component in the 1.0 series Joomla, but it will give you a "restricted access" error message in 1.5. Bugger! Look forward to them updating the code.

From all of the features and modules listed as part of this module, it looks good on the surface and appears to be well worth the download time!
But USER BEWARE! This program is not quite ready for primetime and will take down both admin and public Joomla 1.5 sites the minute you activate it! Those who release such addons should really test them more before making them available for public download, and I for one will avoid this product for the foreseeable future. Anyway, it's easy to get rid of. Just ftp to your site and delete all modules, components and plugins related to JoomlaStats and presto! Your site will reappear in its pre-JS form.
No need to mess with the Registry.php file as others have said. Just remove all traces of it and good riddance!

Hi,
JoomlaStats is not ready for Joomla! 1.5. I have tested the component on Joomla! 1.5.2. The compoenent gives blank pages on the backend. Only the buttons "Info" and "Summarize" are working fine.
Please, resolve this and other problems and this component is back on the first place

It's disappointing. The component had good reviews. The new release might not have received adequate testing. I installed both com_joomlastats_v221.zip and mod_jstats_activate1.3.zip. Even I installed the module first, the installation of the component still complains that mod_jstats_activate is not installed.
On the client-side, the module only shows the text "Activation Module" and that is it, no statistics. Creating a menu item for the component shows nothing. On the admin side, the "exclude" link has a fatal error:
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function listIpAddress
es() on a non-object in C:\apache\htdocs\mysite\administrator\componen
ts\com_joomlastats\admin.joomlastats.php on line 233
Also, on the admin side, the component has missing icons for its menus.

I think this is one of the best statistics components available if it weren't by the bugs, It worked fine for a couple of months for me and suddenly started to show some SQL an PHP warnings in the frontpage regarding that It wasnt able to write headers, I upgraded and it worked well for about a week and then it started to show the same warnings again, I started a thread with my problem and nobody was able to correct it so I unpublished the activate mambot and the problem was gone, but it is not capturing statistics anymore. I will have to change this one for another. Sorry.

I installed the plugin, and was immediately locked out of my site: "Restricted access". Upon further review, I found that this is not a unique issue. Upon checking the author's site (JoomlaStats), I see the answer given by RoBo (admin) is:
"If you have access to the database (using phpmyadmin for example) then you should be able to deactivate the just installed component/module. Please check Joomla site/forum for more info."
Gee, that was a lot of help.

Installed the module after good reviews, the moment i did activate the stats 'restricted access' error on all pages.
So feel free to try, but don't if your site is business critical!
