Seriously, easy to install, has lots of features. The best thing I found about it is that many users contribute code, and you can personalize your arcade to the last details. Just get this 1.5 version out guys!

While it seems like a great idea, and it seems like it could almost work, if you want to use this on a Joomla 1.5 site expect to spend a lot of time fixing everything that is broken.

It doesn't even install itself correctly, puts all the admin images in the wrong locations, 90% of the paths in the install script are incorrect (points to root locations for files inside components/mod_puarcade, new games uploaded do not record high scopres, removing games doesn't uninstall them or remove them from the admin panel (you can only unpublish them).

While this might work on 1.0.x this does not work on 1.5 properly. The included 4 games work (if that's all you want, then this is an ok package to download and install on your site, otherwise it's a wase of time).

When you try to register on their forum/website (where they clearly state how bitter they are about this whole project and that they don't want your $15 to "support" them and then go on to complain or expeect a modicum of support) you CAN NOT REGISTER, even their website is broken and sends you to endless broken links.

Avoid. Simply go get an addon for your forum software (phpBB, SMF, etc) and use the arcade manager there. You will have zero headaches.

I would have supported this with a donation, but when you can't even talk to the author(s) why bother?

if it weren't for joomla I wouldn't have even gave this a second look, but this extension has alot of room for improvement and could be a very powerful tool in the arcade scripts area until they add more I suggest yall check out arcade-themes.com for an arcade CMS

I am a bit of a noob and so maybe this is why i am finding this resource so hard to use... but I also cannot register for the support forum - keeps sending me links but nothing doing on registering me. I cannot find a contact link on the website and the registration email bounces back... I would like an arcade for my team's website but not enough to spend hours or much money on it.

The extension itself is very nice looking and the games (4 of em) run very nicely...

when only .tar files seem to work (which if you are uploading proarcade games 9/10 they come in .tar format)

Honestly, its everything a community based website needs, all i can hope for right now is native in 1.5.

This has to be the best Game component there is for joomla. I have this on my site and is extremely popular. Every time there is an update for this it keeps getting better. The support for this is fantastic which means if there are any problems they get sorted very quick.

This is a really nice games extension that I would like to have on my website. Unfortunately, I'm getting warning messages at the top of the page that could be a security risk so I'm having to uninstall it. The advice I got from the forum didn't help me. It's a shame really, I like this arcade.

I tried this component, at first i looked good and worked fine but after a few tests there seems to be some bugs with the template (VII - rocket theme) i use. In IE7 page is scrolling when u try to control the moves in a game. The developpers dont seem to have a solution either the producers of the template. In Firefox there seem to be a scrolling problem. When u start playing a game the game does not stay in position. So i have to remove this component wich i did not like to do, coz it looks really great. Shame

Does a great job of organizing, installing, playing, and maintaining flash-based games on your Joomla! site. Games can be organized into categories & folders with thumbnails and descriptions. Does high-score recording for logged in users. Very simple and effective, installs easily and gets up-and-running just as easily.

I'm surprised nobody commented here since new version came out. I have not used any older versions, but this new version is top notch and ass kicking. I have seen some websites with older versions of this component, and I really wasn't impressed by PUArcade. 2.1.1 really takes this component to the new level.

It uses AJAX rating system, optional commenting and shout box, allws you to create your own folders and sort the games as you see fit, both view and play permissions, CB profile tab, great high score tracking, compatible with a lot of game formats.

new developers are helping with features and modules,
Large and active community of users,
forget reviews of the older systems which were good the current component is exceptional.
Stores most IBpro scores without a hack to the index.php this is helpful when upgrading Joomla and the php file changes, and do you really want to hack it anyway?
There is a rating system now--we can expect a highest rated module soon I'm guessing.
It's fairly easy to change the look and feel of the arcade. If you want just a few games or a large number this is a must try. I experimented with other systems as well as older PU versions and this one rocks!

This is the component to go with if you are setting up an arcade on your site! It installs easy (and I am using JSMF from Joomla Hacks). Being able to add the games I want was also a major point that made me decide to use PU Arcade. Sure there are others out there that you install and loads of games are available on your site but also loads of ads you have no control over. The support on the forums is also fast and other users are also willing to help where they can. Oh, By the way, I have found loads of games that are compatible with PU Arcade. I have installed within 1 week, well over 100 games ALL of which keep high scores!

I have installed the previous versions too. But the latest version 2.1 is working very well.
Easy installation. I had some issues but at the forum at their website there was a solution very quick.
Games from IBP and PPHPBB are running good, although not every game wil submit a highscore.

I like this component not only because it bring us the possibility of setting up a game arcade to entertain our members, but also because it provides the feasibility of extend the collection of games by ourselves.

Even the first version (which did not have a way to customize which games would be available and just had 5 classic arcade games) had my COMPETITORS playing games on my website and giving me traffic.

Now, with the customizable version I can provide games that are appropriate to the different sites I create.

I have never written a review for an extension that I used off this directory before, mostly due to the fact that so many great reviews were already written.

But after searching and trying many other components (ones hosted on other sites) and reviewing commercial based ones. I decided to try out PUArcade...and I am completely amazed by the work done on this component!

Easy to install, adding and customing games and their categories is as user friendly as it gets! Not to mention the amazing support provided by Pragma in the forums.

This component is a definite MUST HAVE for any site looking to keep its members entertained and consistently coming back to the site. As of this review, version 2.0.3 has just been released which supports even more games!
