MagpieRSS module for Joomla Module

MagpieRSS RSS parser module for Joomla!. It use the famous MagpieRSS XML-based (expat) RSS parser in PHP. Its website is in http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/. This RSS module can read the atom format rss feed (like my blog in blogger). I use its cache function and cache directory is the same as Joomla!. Have fun!

not being able to assign a module suffix limits its use for me, which is a shame as MagpieRSS is the PHP include I use when I'm hand-coding sites. Once that's sorted (and the module makes it out of beta), it should pretty much do the business as a good simple solution to presenting RSS feeds.
I just spent several hours trying many different modules and components to display an RSS feed on my site. After the update to 1.5.9 and a move of my site the mod_feed module stopped working on some feeds. Specifically feeds where the url ended in xml. I installed this module and all is working as hoped for. Good bye mod_feed... Hello MagpieRSS.

Module has no parameter for suffix, so no styling is possible
First tried Slick RSS but it gave a lot of errors on my Joomla 1.5 install. Then tried MagPieRSS and it worked great. The only problem was that the feature to show the time did not work and resulted in a code error. Highly recommended.

I gave up on slick RSS and mod_feed because whenever I turned them on I got a '500 internal server error' and a core dump on my J1.5 site, but MagpieRSS worked first time.

I tried 4 other rss readers but could not get them to install with Joomla 1.0.15. MagpieRSS worked straightaway and is very simple. Great stuff, thanks to the developer!

Seems ok, but it doesn't support umlauts, like some Swedish letters (å, ä, ö etc).
A very simple module that works well. Displays the title (and optionally date) of the first x number of items in an RSS feed in a module position. Caches the feed for performance reasons.

If you're looking for no nonsense straightforward RSS feed in a module position functionality, look no further.
