decent module - i guess.
it only allows for five feeds, but the way around this is to get a plugin called 'Modules Anywhere', create a custom mod and piggy back multiple feeds... so no worries there
but i want - NEED - to customize the layout - horrible, HORRIBLE layout and i'm probably going to go look for something else if i am unable to find a way after spending an hour looking for a way to stylize it.. makes no sense, they spent SO much time giving you options to stylize the hover box (SO dumb!)
if you're not picky about presentation and just looking to dump some fresh content on a page somewhere that you don't care what people think it looks like just so you can hopefully get better serps, go for it, but until this is addressed - big fail, sorry.
if anyone has any suggestions, would love to hear - will check back in the next hour or so, if not, i will remove.
best of luck to you all

An excellent Rss module written with Joomla SimplePie.
Thanks!
Thanks!
This is a great module to display a single feed (in Joomla! 1.5.xx). Plenty of settings and works well. However, it only displays ONE (1) feed - is that overstating it? To claim in their description "Up to 5 RSS feeds per instance" is just so wrong. Why waste people's time. Either fix it, remove the comment, or correct it. This is the best RSS reader I found so far after trying many different types of RSS readers. Very simple to use.The only The problem I have now is there is no Bullet Points for each story which sometimes could be hard for the eye. It does not seem other have complained about it. It could be my template that creating this problem.
I installed Slick RSS easily, but I have no idea how to use it because there doesn't appear to be any documentation. I found a forum, but it mostly addresses problems instead of a providing a "how to" guide. Even after install, I can't seem to find the module in the Joomla admin section. So . . . if you can figure this out, it may be a good extension ... but without some starting documents, who knows.
...and was really easy to set up.
I love this component. Only a little mod:
in default.php line 28.
Add a class for link title:
print ''.$slick_rss['title']['title'].'';

Very happy with this module, needs one more option programmed into the setup interface to choose to date order feeds or not.
I've put a line of code in to override this into helper.php - around line 75 after $feed->set_feed_url($rssurl);
New line:
$feed->enable_order_by_date(false);
This displays the feed in the same order that it was input into the module.
It's using the SimplePie library so it's possible to do more customisation as needed by looking through the library code :)

I spent an entire Saturday trying every RSS Feed Reader Module for Joomla I could find. Every one was either ugly, didn't work correctly with my template, or didn't do anything different than what comes with Joomla.
Except for this one.
I hope development will continue. I'd like to see some tweaks to the tooltips (like being able to customize the dimensions or color). Will gladly donate.

this module works very fine specially that tool-tip. Just one thing for some servers, include line ini_set("display_errors","off"); in tmpl/default.php
Easy to install and configure. I use it to display the latest blog content on my website (one feed).
I did run into an issue with too much spacing between the title and item description, but found a solution on the forum: LINK REMOVED
I'm using a YOOtheme template, which has as custom.css file. I added the code I got from the above link to this file and shortly thereafter found the spacing issue was resolved.
I would recommend this module.
What I would like to see in the next version is a way to make the title of the module a hyperlink.
