Editor's Note
- This extension places a link back to the developer's site into your website's metadata.
Hi,
I've been using this plugin for over 2 years now on my J!1.5x websites. With minimum effort for SEO I managed to place one of my websites in top position in Google first page queries for dozens of keywords. So it really does the Job.
Yet, I have been searching for an answer all over and couldn't find one nowhere. I'm trying to find a way to make JoomSEO skip articles that have meta tags added manually. Is there a way to solve this easily?
thanks again for this great plugin!

Thanks very much.. I've been searching for a plugin liker this for some time...This is an awesome extension and works as mentioned by the developer.
I was looking for something to handle the keywords and description for a largely virtuemart site.
This plugin really does the trick (with a little patience)
That's not to say that everyone would have to work as hard as I have. It does work well "out of the box" and with careful use of the parameters, adding good "sticky words" and expanding on the "bad words" I've got reasonable results.
The downside for me is that there are no "bad words" or "sticky words" for the description. They are plucked right out of the main content, so when viewing a product in virtuemart the description picks up the breadcrumbs and "view your shopping basket". I'm fairly confident I can modify the code and maybe sort this out for myself. Maybe the developer will include this functionality in the next release?
All said and done, a pretty good plugin.

I was looking for a plugin to replace the keywords and description of my site pages in a way that actually works (without paying for it), but this one even changes the title and adds keywords to it! Highly recommended from my part - also because there are countless easy to use settings in the backend part.
All I do now is go through my pages and look at the source to see for any bad keywords (having a non-english site craves extra work), then include these to joomseo bad keywords so they don't appear again.
Just provide some updates and I would so pay for it!

I hope this gets updated more often - Seeing bad reviews by people that don't do research just irks me thinking the developer will not continue working on this great component!

This is great specially if you are managing a website with tons of old content that was not tagged with keywords. Using this plugin makes all those pages have relevant keywords and descriptions real easy, right away. You just need to fine tune it so it doesnt use keywords you repeat a lot on your, but that is a website-to-website setting.
For those complaining about the keywords it extracts from your content - it is NOT MAGICAL, it will not make up keywords your content doesn't include.
You have to include the keywords you want to be found for in your content. If your content does not have the keywords you want to show for... well, good look trying to make google like you by just using the keywords you want on the meta.

I just discover after days and days of search and forum help post this plugin generate issue with RSS Feed. I use default joomla SEF (with the 3 option enabled that mean Search Engine Friendly URLs + Use Apache mod_rewrite + Add suffix to URLs) the feed displayed by module mod_syndicate don't work. If I disable option "Add suffix to URLs" the feed work...but normally if you decide to enable SEF is better to enable also "Add suffix" if not the SEF is purely useless. You can see the discussion about this issue in Joomla Bug Tracker here:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/tracker/?action=TrackerItemEdit&tracker_item_id=18815
Conclusion...if your website require to have SEF enabled with Add Suffix enabled and if you want propose to your visitors to subscribe to your Feed using a syndication link don't use this plugin. Another point is probably also the fact the development of this plugin is no more active and absolutely no support is provided... Too bad because I will be happy to pay for a working plugin without this issue...

I have installed this plugin on my site seo-gnome.com to see if it would be a good addition to the already long list of extensions that I install standard on all my client's websites.
I mean no disrespect to the author of this plugin with the following review. It is just my honest observation.
The long and the short of it is this plugin does not do the job. You are MUCH better off handling your own meta tags.
Here is the actual meta tag that this plugin set for my site:
Out of 25 "Keywords" only 2 were sort of relevant and none were what I would consider to be good keywords.
I would not recommend this plugin to anyone at any time. It is simply garbage.
With regards,
Ron

Ive been trying SEOSimple, SEOMeta, Artio JoomSEF, and think this one is the best so far. Simple and effective and plenty of options too.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot!
I does not work for me.
I installed it, read the docs, such as there are and nothing. It does nothing at all. I explained my problem on their forum, and no support at all.
I am looking for an alternative, if you try it and it doesn't work out the box move on, because I have really tried to get this working and nothing.

I really like this plugin i have been using it years. Just lately i find out that it work in most component only some components it does not work at all ( blank title and description ) and some component repeated description.
The developer seem MIA so 0 support i hope someone can take over and continue refine this.

Can't go without it, excellent plugin, exactly what i was looking for.
This is an awesome plugin and I would love to use it. Unfortunately, it creates a major issue if you are using this with the JA Purity template.
Instead of showing the meta data description it shows time, date, author and other irrelevant information.
This problem is ONLY with JA purity template

I love this plugin - the only requests would be to:
- Add ability to change or turn of the "generator tag" in joomla
- ability to handle double word keywords commar seperated (thats if that is valid seo?
other than that, this rocks, and takes about 3 min to setup. It has got several of my sites to top of google automatically... Love it
