Editor's Note
- This extension places a link back to the developer's site into your website's metadata.

I have installed this plugin on my site seo-gnome.com to see if it would be a good addition to the already long list of extensions that I install standard on all my client's websites.
I mean no disrespect to the author of this plugin with the following review. It is just my honest observation.
The long and the short of it is this plugin does not do the job. You are MUCH better off handling your own meta tags.
Here is the actual meta tag that this plugin set for my site:
Out of 25 "Keywords" only 2 were sort of relevant and none were what I would consider to be good keywords.
I would not recommend this plugin to anyone at any time. It is simply garbage.
With regards,
Ron

I does not work for me.
I installed it, read the docs, such as there are and nothing. It does nothing at all. I explained my problem on their forum, and no support at all.
I am looking for an alternative, if you try it and it doesn't work out the box move on, because I have really tried to get this working and nothing.

I really like this plugin i have been using it years. Just lately i find out that it work in most component only some components it does not work at all ( blank title and description ) and some component repeated description.
The developer seem MIA so 0 support i hope someone can take over and continue refine this.

Very good plugin but I have a problem with it: I can't make title appear as h1. Can anybody help me?

This is an awesome plugin and I would love to use it. Unfortunately, it creates a major issue if you are using this with the JA Purity template.
Instead of showing the meta data description it shows time, date, author and other irrelevant information.
This problem is ONLY with JA purity template

I love this plugin - the only requests would be to:
- Add ability to change or turn of the "generator tag" in joomla
- ability to handle double word keywords commar seperated (thats if that is valid seo?
other than that, this rocks, and takes about 3 min to setup. It has got several of my sites to top of google automatically... Love it

If you're missing the UTF-8 support of this extension, just replace line 368 in JoomSEO.php with this code: "$text = mb_strtolower($text,"utf-8");"
bytme_power on April 21, 2009
Plugin very good but not support utf-8 site and meta decs is format: Content + + Date creat + Author + content is not config.

I installed this in a clean sandbox version using the latest RT template that incorporates VirtueMart and all seemed ok at first. Then all of a sudden an error was produced something about invaild compression being used. That's where we uninstalled but once uninstalled now no matter what we do the plugin manager will not show any new plugins after install. They show in the uninstaller but nowhere in the manager.
I;ve used the non 1.5 version and never had issues, but ever since 1.5 it seems everyone is trying to play cat and mouse to get everything up to the same level, pity we still fight to make what should be simple to install.

simple, lightweight and works fine. No complaints here just a request. I wish there is an option to add category and/or section names to the page title. I hope author will add this feature.

I had the specific need for a plugin that would simply create meta titles, meta descriptions and meta keywords. I did not want url rewriting as the sef component standard with joomla 1.5 is quite sufficient. I searched and searched...
Then I found this plugin. It is extremely lighweight and it simply works. It does exactly what I stated, everytime!

This is one of the best plug-in of all the similar products, but after using several weeks unfortunately I found the bad char/word removal feature is NOT for double byte languages (or NOT UTF8 compatible) and was doing harm on the title-bar... If I look into the code the word removal is simply for the Western languages. We need the feature of disabling this.
Waiting for the version-up!!!

Ok tried it and it really creates the URLs in a friendly way. It grabs the alias words and makes the URL of it. wHAT COULD BE SIMPLER?
on the other hand sh404 makes URLs with the component word (at least without configuring it better) and an all bunch of unnecesary numbers.
It's so simple and nice im really happy with it.
Feature request: Grab tags on wrappers if a wrapper is in use. Or check wrapper url and add it to a friendly URL. Have both option available would make this SEO bot even better.

Easy to install and use. But need to experiment to get the required results.
For example, descriptions are taken off the title and first few lines of your article. So by changing this in the article, you can control the description in the meta tags.
Keywords are words that are frequently repeated in the article. You can exclude keywords by adding them in the bad words section. You can include keywords by repeating them in the article.
Thinking about it, this is the exact way search engines gauge your site and decide on what it is all about.
Thanks for a great tool!

I have been looking for this for ages.
Easy to install and VERY flexible.
The blacklist is wonderful because of its flexibility. You can add words that might be keywords for other sites but are not good for your site. It will take some time to get rid of all the keywords I don't want but way less time than if I had to fill in article by article like I used to.
THANK YOU! Keep the good work going! For instance, a little bit mroe flexibility for the description (something like start at line x or paragraph x) would be nice, but as it is I love it :)
