The PrayerCenter Component provides users of a website with the capability to share their prayer concerns with others. Prayer concerns can be posted to the website, sent to members of the the prayer chain, and sent to the Spiritual director or pastor. Users can subscribe to be members of the prayer chain via online form.
Translations available in the following languages (others being developed):

The old version on 1.5 worked very well, we've received over 30k request without a problem. Where redeveloping our site in 1.7 and it fails on install and all menu links open in a page with a PHP "Encoding_Error_".
I've emailed the arthur countless times and have never received a response. I would give this 5 stars, but I can't get it to work or correctly install, and support is non-existent.
I hate to look for other alternatives.

Love this component. easy to install and setup, if you need help the forum and staff are great.
Any chance on creating a android/iphone app where once submitted from the app it would still send the confirmation to the admin and get stored in the DB and allow us to publish as if they sent it directly from the site?

This was very easy to install, modify and use. The documentation is straight forward, easy to follow even for novice like myself.
Guys, you have done a very good job and May all the prayer requests that are made with this module carry a silent but surely answerable prayer for you! I highly recommend it for anyone seeking to add prayer feature to their website.

The product was easy to install and has all of the features we were looking for. Setup and use are intuitive and it will make a great addition to our website. On the con side, support and documentation have room for improvement. One feature, not working as stated, is the email to a distribution list. Overall, it's a great product.
I love Prayer Center for Joomla 1.5 and use it on several sites. Would highly recommend it.
What I was wondering and would LOVE To see is a 1.6 version. I have several ministry sites that I currently develop and maintain and they have the desire to go to Joomla 1.6 but until we can either find a suitable alternative or Prayer Center comes out with a compatible version, we are kind of in waiting. Obviously for ministries the Prayer Center component is vital and appreciated! :)

PrayerCenter is a wonderful component for our church website, but it has an issue with inserting backslashes right before all apostrophes in the prayer requests. Other than that... it's great!
I love how easy it is to use. The only part I don't get is how to edit your sample text at the start of the page.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7
Father, in Your mercy, hear our prayers."
I haven't figured out where to edit this at. Make that a little easier to locate and I think you'll have a pretty amazing product there!

I like the thought of this extension, but I am having issues with installing. It states that the .xml file is missing. But I do like the placing of this component.

You will need to unzip the download file first. Within that zip file you will find the installation package as well as some instructional documentation. God bless!
I saw this when I was looking for extensions for my church's youth band. I downloaded it, installed it, tested it and it worked great. Great extension. Thank you and God Bless!
i love this component how easy it is to submit prayers.
This is such a wonderful component! Worked perfectly for me as well as the other modules thats available. Im using everything and got wonderful response when I requested captcha for the Guestbook. I had a new version with captcha encluded within a few days. Cant ask for more than that. I recommend anyone that needs this type of product for this site to give it a try. You will love it, and make a donation to this man. He deserves it!!!

I would love to give this component an Excellent rating but I can't. The component is wonderful component but if you have a problem with it you will have problems getting support. Yes, I know this is a freebie. I have sent an email and posted on the website forum and have not heard from anyone. The problem that I have with this component is when I publish the prayer request and the emails are suppose to go out to my users, I get an error message. This issue really limits the usefulness of this component.
Very well thought out module, with nice add-ons. Very easy to set up. I have a collector site, so I set up the prayer center with a different template, away from the "busyness" of the rest of the site. It's like a little chapel. We have always shared prayer requests in our group, even though the site is mostly about our hobby. The point is: the prayer center can be implemented on a lot of sites and not just church-related.
I d/led and installed this and got it working very easily. The only problem I had is one I think I have to blame myself for and that would be permissions on the config file. I had to chmod them to 777 to change the presets.

As a Joomla newbie (and not very techie regardless) I was able to install and have this running in my new site in about 15 minutes. My testing so far looks like everything works as advertised.

1) have a "prayed for button" where users on the net could indicate that they have prayed for this item, a counter on the number of times its been prayed for would be a great idea....in this way a random person in Ohio could pray for a sick child in Florida or another country and feel "participatory"...the most popular prayed for items could then be shown (peace on earth, mercy for the nations, whatever)
2) have a place for comments , encouragement, or the prayer that was given in response to the prayer request
