There is a new Joomla 1.5 compatible version at the project's website.
The advertising is now turned off by default and will be removed in future versions.

Hello,
This component is useful but there are still some bugs.
One in particular may have your sitemap show double entries. There is a fix here : http://koder.de/projekte/joomap/?cp=12 but the author doesn't seems to have it fixed in his "official" release yet.
Besides that, the job is done.

Very easy to install and use. I haven't gotten any errors from Google about this sitemap, which is a good thing!!

Very well designed. I found it particularly easy to write new plugins for this component and have distributed several already, although the original authors have not updated it to use the new framework calls. Notes:
(1) There is no general forum, you have to fish around for support.
(2) It does not create a title by default, but that's just one PHP call to assign title to page. (3) If you have quote marks in your title, it's a good idea to add striplashes() to the title generation code.
(4) I also got a warning about leading whitespace from Google sitemap submission. I deleted the '?>' at the bottom the files which because they had linefeeds after it causing whitespace to be added to the top of the XML submission

One of the good thing is that google download the sitemap much more often than a regular xml sitemap

Been using the 1.0 version for a couple of years. Works just fine with no problems! Thank you!

Thanks
Thanks

I have installed this component and it works perfectly. Since the hidden advertisement is disabled, I will recommend it if you want to have a simple sitemap.

Hi I installed Joomap on my website and it is great. No problems installing and setting up. This is a great component and I would recommend it to everyone.

This one is a great one. Simple to install and configure and works right out of the box. Was a great fan of the 1.0 version and will keep on using and recommending the 1.5 version.
Seriously, stop the whining. Lack of community spirit is when you moan about something which is good, and which you get for free. If you don't like it, don't use it, but don't slag off a good component. People spend time and money to develop these components, the least you can do is either leave the link on and allow the developer the SEO benefits that brings with it (and no harm to your website), or just switch off the link.

Good to see updates for this plugin.
Installation works fine. The author has switched the hidden link default off now, and promises to remove it in the next version.
It would be helpful to add some documentation, because a manual step is necessary to inform Google about the sitemap.
As a new feature I would like to see the possibility to add a content using the MCE editor to the sitemap page. It is not very difficult to add and it makes it easy to add a picture and some text. I love pictures, at my sites I want a picture at every page.

This was a snap to install and implement and works great. I don't understand what all the whining is about as there is a setting with a checkbox to enable the developer's hidden links. They have every right to offer a link back to themselves, hidden or not. Just uncheck the darned box and quit your whining!

I have had problems getting it to work. I cam back here to see if there was a solution. What do I find? Info that it has hidden links / advertising.
As most people use sitemaps to inmprove search performance, thne hidden links / ads is the last thing you'd want.
Quite possibly this extension could cause a drop in search performace, as well as promoting sites that we may or may not wish to promote.
As a previous poster stated, this is completely not within the community spirit.

Great stuff, but "This extension by default includes hidden links/advertising." - No, thanks. This is not really community spirit.

Joomap is a great addition to Joomla it creates a multi lined list of almost every link in your website and it was very easy to install!
future additions i would like to see:
i would like to see the integration of DOCMAN and Joomap as joomap cannot access DOCMAN at the moment!
other than that i think joomap is a great addition thank you for doing a great job

Having hidden links inside a Joomla Component is not the best way to promote yourself. I used to use this great compo but now i wont since i dont like having such links inside my website.

Easy to install. Easy to get going for a newbie. Great work!
