Have been using Blue Flame Forms for several years now and whilst it has lots of great options there are a few downsides to it and is no longer being actively developed. We needed a replacement and found it with UniForm.
Slick interface, easy and intuitive to use without being simplistic. Would love to see it developed further to match some of the features it currently misses against BF Forms (multiple actions, being able to access the entered data after submission, ie for on-page display) but even without that it's a great product.
By far, Uniform Pro is the best of those three. It is flexible enough to make any kind of form you need.
Also outstanding: their support. We had misunderstood some functionality and had some troubles implementing a very specific need: We wanted to use the form as input for exercises at a school and be able to later on review that input.
It took about two days before Joomlashine support mentioned that another extension was interfering with theirs.
Very easy to implement, nice visual!
I have a problem with 'optimize' option (wich promises to realocate .js to bottom of page) wich causes a problem in my Joomla admin, but I simply remove and reinstalled and works fine now! (with this option deselected)
Recommended with 5 stars! Best option in forms!
I am using a template by a famous template club. The template is consistent with Joomla 3.x bootstrap guidelines.
Uniform wasted a whole day to find out that it is using an own bootstrap or bootstraթ like CSS. I don't know why they are loading a redundant bootstrap CSS but it breaks my site. I spent another whole day for fitting Թhe templates form design into uniform and fixing the look.
I think it is not mature form maker or it is the very intention of the developers.
If you are using other joomla templates than those of JSN then be careful.
Thank you for the review, but I’m afraid you have made a shallow assumption.
The product has parameter which allows you to turn on / off bootstrap loading. We’ve added that parameter since in Joomla 2.5 there is no Bootstrap included. It doesn’t make any business sense for us to create an extension that would work only with our templates and push away thousands of users who use template from other providers.
We are sorry you’ve wasted your time. We wish you could see that parameter earlier.
Ive tried the other popular form, that "makes your form in a breeze" ;) and i couldnt find out how to make a form. Im sure with a little research, reading some documentation, or watching some videos wont be as hard to do. But with UniForm you dont even need to do that, as its drag and drop, and simply works!
The only drawback was the "big" framework behind it, that needs to much CSS and JS for loading on the front end. But ive posted this problem on their forum, and they are fixing this now!
Their support is grate, a couple of questions i had were answered in just a few hours, and they have updates to the product very often, fixing and improving what people say in the forum, releasing those fixes in very little time!
Im very happy with them!
Thank you very much for your positive review. The issue related to CSS and JS overload at front-end has been fixed in the latest version 3.0.1. Please update and enjoy!
I went for the commercial version and support is outstanding making its price very reasonable.
It works just great out-of-the-box and looks fantastic either on the frontend and the backend.
Top-recommended form extension!
There are three little things I'd love to have:
1. Custom class for every element. Styling would sometimes be easyer.
2. Custom order of address elements. E.g. in German mailing addresses the zipcode is used at a different position.
3. And the ultimate thing: Controling elements from different element. E.g. click on a radio button to choose between "Email" and "Phone" and let the input field react. I don't know if there's a way to implement this without killing usability. But if they realize it, i will ask joomla.org for a sixth star...
Thank you for you review. We are already working on #1 and #2 of your request. Regarding #3, it’s current possible to assign action to radio buttons option, but right now, it’s just about show/hide other fields. So we will update this feature to make it possible to perform more action.
I can't say enough about how great the templates and other extensions they are producing. Worth the money in all cases. They have FREE and very functional versions of everything.
Great Work Guys !
