HP best solution for real estate website in the near future I'll detail all the possible tuning of this component. In a very short time I managed to create a valuable site real estate. I recommend to all. See my site http://62metra.ru

The moeset team are excellent and quickly support desk, thank you
First, thanks for this nice component. It is still beta (1.0b4), but it almnost functining with no problems!

Few bugs that I have to report:

Description disappear, after editing existing property....so need to be entered evry time (in Front-end only)

When creating NEW exra fields, multitext (textarea) don't work....actualy, you can't set "size" (number of rows/lines ), so everything is in single line

I don't know why, but sometimes HP add link's to picture (picture that don't exist)....so there is problem when deleting that property. You must set another picture first, then delete that item (property).

Thanks and sorry if my English is so bad ;-)

Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Price and few bugs

I recently purchased this for a client's real estate site. I'm very pleased with both the options it gives for a real estate site and the excellent tech support when a problem occurs. They also have a very active forum where I've found some good information on making customizations the my client has requested.

If you're looking to create a real estate website for yourself or for someone else, I highly recommend Hot Property.
I have to say the support has been very quick. I have had multiple questions and I always get responses within 1 day (usually late at night).

There are some features I would like to see, but it sounds like the release of 1.0 stable with handle most of it. (I am not sure when that is coming).
This is the first time I'm using HP on a Joomla 1.5 site and I have to say I'm very pleased about their support.
Apparently there was a bug inside the latest beta version (that's probably why they call it beta :) ) and after getting them access info to my site the bug got fixed right away.
I only can recommend this application to anyone who wants a stable real estate front- and back end.
Good job, please keep it rolling

SIncerely

This is a good extension with nice features when it comes to the back end and the front end. I would like to have more updates though. It missing a built in captcha thingy, which would make it cooler. I have been using it on one of my sites for more than a year. Its stable and hardly needs any maintenance. Good extension.
I have been using Hot Property for some time now and there have been few, if any, upgrades.

Mosets has released an availability extension which only goes partway to solving the rental solution. It's OK showing the availability, but customers need to be able to reserve property and pay for the rental online.

I have seen no plans to make the product fully functional by adding a customer payment module. I suspect one will be announced someday and we will have to buy that as another extra.

I have tried using the forum for many feature requests/suggestions/improvements, but like others have reported, the response has been a deafening silence.

It is vital that if you charge for a product, your customers get good support - I have had much better support from developers of non-commercial products.

Please guys - lift your game a little.

I've been using Hot Property for almost a year now. I would say that in some regard, all of the previous reviews are right. The product is decent out of the box, as is the Mosets Tree directory product made by the same company. Customization takes some digging into the Php and CSS, and there IS an advanced fields search (but you have to know where to find it and set it up).

The product is decent and the users in the forum, certain people in particular, can be very helpful and offer some good hacks. You will need this as the customer support is, from my experience, really poor. This is the biggest criticism I would have, as well as the documentation could be improved. Many users are passionate about the product and improvement suggestions have been made over and over, so I won't recount them here. But there is little constructive response from the developer who seems quite aloof from and unconcerned with his customers. There ARE moderators on the forums, but with poor communication skills.

To this date there is not even a definitive notice or news item on site as to the plans for Joomla 1.5. Discussions and rumors abound in the forums, but the developer snoozes.

The product has immense potential, but I am leery as to my future with it because of this lack of real communication from the developer.
Good product which is regrettably not supported by the developers.

I found the forum (http://forum.mosets.com/), an invaluable resource to get all the customization work done. It is really a shame that this forum is "hidden" and the developers have given-up taking part to this forum or even producing new releases. If you are not fluent with PHP, I would think twice before investing $119 in this product.
I've purchased this extension awhile ago...and i'm still waiting for updates, the last proper updates i think which is around 2 years ago. The support in the forum is terrible. There are better realty components out there, such as ezrealty (support is perfect there) or cmsrealty(free)

If you are a beginner or intermediate user of Joomla; stay away from this component. It seems like very easy to customize but its NOT. You will need support extensively. They have a forum which you never get "free" answers. Their forum is to catch new clients for customization.

Of course its up to you but I certainly don't advice you to deal with this component while there are better real estate components here. They are free and you get real support.

Maybe you are a webmaster or business owner / manager. I was thinking that, it should be more logical to get commercial products instead of free ones. Because of security and support etc. But my idea has changed after this component.

I will stick with GNU philosophy after now. Good luck with your decision.

Why this product is an "Editors Pick" escapes me. Prior to shelling out USD $120 for this, I recommend that prospective users spend a little time reviewing the support forum: http://forum.mosets.com/. There is no developer support, no manual, and all issues are to be solved on a hit-or-miss basis by the user community. It does not play well with IE7, does not work with Joomla! 1.5, and is ridden with bugs and issues that require quite a bit of code editing experience to remedy (if at all). Nor does it appear that the developer is adressing or updating the product. Beware!

Hot Properties does have it's limitations. Out of the box it's not well suited to a pay per listing type of site, and it doesn't have any real template system. However, it isn't a bad base for more traditional real estate website, and the code isnt' difficult to modify. With some work it could be a really nice package.

The support is good. Had a problem with an upgrade, at first it took them a while to get back to me, but eventually they fixed the issue.

I have installed and used both Hot Property and CMS-Realty and here is what I have concluded. Hot Property is not even an if you plan on using paid listings. I purchased Hot Property for $100, MamboCharge for $75 (the component to charge for listings) and had to pay someone $100 to setup MamboCharge because the two are so incompatible. It took a week and $275 to get it right. My site required a lot of extra fields and HP does not give you control on how they show up. The templates are also very weak and the featured listings do not randomize (Don't even try to use the forum).

I installed cms-realty and purchased a paypal addon for $40 dollars and had a fully functional site in an hour. I just wish I would have tried cms-realty first. Don't get fooled into thinking a fully a integrated joomla addon is better than OR.

This extension is realy worth the money. I am running a full automated car website.

Thanks to Lee Cher Yeong for this nice and usefull extension.
HP is a great extension. I love it... 5 stars. One thing that could use some help is the "Map It" function... or lack there of... Great Job!

In fairness to Mosets, I wanted to add an additional comment or two to my review.

After speaking with the developer, he assures me the program isn't a forgotten app and is being updated for joomla 1.5 and will include a number of new/needed features.

I can say he is very helpful if there are any questions and though it may be lacking some crucial additions, it will still get you through most of the 'standard realtor' requirements.

My suggestions is to investigate it to be sure what it currently does suits your needs, read their forum for hacks etc. and then make your decision.

I've completed my realtor site, its solid, just tougher to do than it should have to be :)

Hello,
I've purchased the program and have implemented it on a site. I found it just 'OK'. Its a bit jumbled, lacks some of the most important abilities. For example:

Search function - you can't have any kind of an advanced search on your real estate front page, just a basic one input box and a dropdown menu of types of real estate ie: single family, multi-family etc. Maybe you can hack one in, not sure what happens if you change your fields etc. in the back end.

Can't display feature properties in columns - hope you like them stretched out across the full length of your page

Updates: forget it, I've read it hasn't been updated in about 2 years to any degree

Notify feature: sadly missing

Save search: sadly missing

There are others but you get the idea. Also take a look at the example sites, the layout hardly varies (absolute pain to do anything really different from the default).

Backend is all right. I've never used the multi realtor function (thankfully) as I have a feeling there would be challenges as well.

All in all: Like I said, its OK, overpriced, left for dead for updating. I think if it came in around 50 bucks, it would be about right, but 120 bucks for a forgotten app, I now wonder.

If I'm wrong about any of the info above, I'd sure like to know.
