Great plugin, easy to set up. Only downside, can't find any way to exclude article IDs.
Having a 1.0 site, I was hoping to find an extension that would allow me to incorporate AddThis to our site without having to code it myself. This is EXACTLY what I needed.

Also, I had an issue trying to register on the site, contacted them regarding it and received a response not long after. FYI...If you go to register on their site, don't use Firefox 3 as there are issues - Safari 4 worked fine.

I appreciate the quick response, an answer to my question AND, of course, a product that does the job. Thanks!

Awesome, the ability to hid from the front page is much better. Extending it to the other blog layout pages would be excellent.

Does exactly what is says. Many thanks.

Awesome little plugin. Exactly what I was looking for. I'd recommended it to everybody.
byNomnom on October 19, 2008
This plugin is so close to perfection. It would have been exactly what I needed except that it appeared after every article on the homepage. The find/replace string needs to changed to something that only displays on the Article view, and not at the end of every article with Read More or without. The problem this creates is that people believe they are bookmarking the article but are really bookmarking the Home page. When/If this issue is resolved, I'll be the first in line to give it a second try.

Hello Nomnom,
I think you got it wrong. Even if it is on the home page, it submits the right article and not the homepage URL.
Try to submit any article from the home page.

This is good work. I needed this and had it up quickly. The only thing it needs is a style 'hook', so that we can set a div Id. Then we can hide it on the front pages and article pages, and only show it on article pages.

Very convenient extension. Would love to use this in a new Joomla 1.5 implementation but alas it does not work. No other extensions added yet so it can't be a conflict. No support forum to get a clue about what the issue might be.
Owner's reply

I have just updated the plugin for 1.5. Please visit the site.

I just downloaded the latest button for J!1.5 ... I've tried all the various settings and combinations ... could NOT get it to work on a clean installed site with virtually NO extensions installed yet. This is a great little button and it worked under J! 1.x.

Just fixed the issue and released the new version. So please visit the site for new version.

As cool as this plugin is, front page handling would be nice -

-allow us not to show it on the front page
-allow us to use alternative or custom buttons

As it is now, if you bookmark an item on the front page, sites like DIGG do not pick the name of the article but the name of the top page.

This plugin installs and can be configured easily however there are several bugs.

1. Selecting itemids to exclude does not work.
2. I could get the center alignment to work. Could be my template.
3. Cannot configure button type. Always shows second type out of the three available. There are five styles from addthis.

If these were fixed, then this would be useful. For now, I cannot use this.
I agree with Umit; this would be an excellent addition to any site if it would allow individual articles on the frontpage to be submitted. Hopefully a new version will surface with frontpage support.
Owner's reply

JoyMonkey,
This plugin has nothing to do with submitting a URL for the article. Actually AddThis code itself checks for the current page URL and submits it.

This indeed is a nice plugin. But I'm missing 1 thing with it. And thats the option not to show the addthis button on the frontpage of the website. Its kinda useless having 10 articles on the frontpage, all with the addthis button bookmarking the homepage.

It would be better if you could bookmark the link of the article, instead of the link of the page the button is on. This might be a thing for the next version.

But got to say, aside from the homepage thing, its a usefull plugin.
Owner's reply

I have addressed this issue and now you can bookmark the link of the article, instead of the link of the page from the home page as well.

This is great - installed easily and looks so much better than having all the different buttons there..

Looks great - works great - Well done!!
p.s. Addthis also do a widget for wordpress blogs which I didn't know about so I've now got that working on my blog..

AND! you get stats as well...

really cool

this Plugin Works on 1.0 perfecly. but as the plugin for 1.5 does not work. It does not show up at all..
An excellent tool that excels above other bookmarking add-ons because AddThis.com provides usage statistics to the site owner.

Features I'd love to see in the future:
-A toggle to select their secure version of the widget (https://secure.addthis.com/...)
-The ability to use a custom button
-Support for VirtueMart products

After used several bookmark plugin, I end with this.
Great.. I love this plugin.
Thank you for sharing.
After trying and fussing with many of the social bookmarking addons, banging my head, been told sorry-upgrade, or can't help you,,,along comes a simple and FUNCTIONING script.

After the zip had been fixed, I installed this in less then a min and already had a DIGG request before I could refresh my admin session...TALK about class,

If your looking for a BM script that works, you really have got to check this little puppy out, be nice and brush the fur and you will have a life long friend. Power to the people...

Thanks for fixing the zip, but most of all, thanks for a great FUNCTIONING tool.
bypilotjourney on August 16, 2007
This is a great add-on. The only reason that I did not give it an excellent rating was because of the inclusion of a "hidden link" to your site included in the item. We will either have that removed or stop using it.
Owner's reply

I am working on the second release where I will take it out. Keep checking. I know it looks weird when someone's website shows up on the front page.

Keep checking for the new release, its coming out soon.

I like the Addthis tool and this mambot is really useful in order to include it in your site.
Easy to load, easy to configure, excellent the itemid exclude option.
Thank you for shared it.
