A-dvanced features make it easy to perform lots of actions!

============
Note:
For quite some time now I have not spent time on this project. At the moment it does not seem that I will pick it up soon.

So unfortunatelly as JAM is not completely mature yet I officialy mark this project as stopped.

If you want to pick up this project and develop JAM further, please contact me.

Would be an excellent extension, but i have also found that it only works with tinymce editor. my system default editor is no editor and with the no editor plugin installed and enabled i get a 500 error saying it cannot find the plugin. after trying all the editor plugins only tiny mce works, and it does not integrate well with my site layout.

It perfect! Everything went smooth. Easy breezy, lemon squeezy. I recommend this Extension.
After few weeks of testing, looks very good, solid choice for a pm system.

There are a few minor problems but overall I think this is a great extension. Please keep up the great work your doing with
this component.

Great idea and I am sure someday will be a good pms. I decided to try it out today along with my new "clean" joomla 1.5 install.

#1 problem no way to get support (there seems to be no message board.

#2 CB plugin is missing an entire class, therefore does not integrate.

#3 Author says uses system default editor but "tinymce" editor is hard coded all over the code. In fact it seems to only use the tinymce editor.

Like I said promising but since the extensions update is the 1st one in 3 months. I think I would stay away from this extension

1) We have a forum and a contact form. Both have been there for months.
2) The stable plugin is working fine, maybe you tested an unstable version.
3) JAM supports J!1.5 default editors. ('tinyMCE 2.0', 'XStandard' and 'None')

As a PMS system that supposedly integrates with CB it is very minimal. Yes it does create a "Quick Message" profile tab but isn't recognized by CB as a PMS. Under "Connection Manager" CB doesn't display a "PM" link for connected members and using JAM to notify of "Connection" requests doesn't happen at all.

That said, the main component is really good but the integration with CB (CB Plugin) needs to be looked at to give the same functionality as JIM, UddeIM and other PM systems.

I would like to let you know that together with JAM 0.9.5 a stable cb-plugin is released, which solves those problems.

I just installed JAM, and after customizing it a bit, it works amazingly well with my 1.5 installation! I'm so happy with it! The biggest Pro for me would probably be the fact that it uses the WYSIWYG Editor that is default on my site!
Excellent Job! Can't wait to see if it's upgraded even more!

Hello,

Easy installation and configuration.
Running smooth and easy to use.

But i have a problem with CSS. It looks like template's CSS is overriding JAM's CSS styles. Because of this reason it looks so weird.

Best wishes,
Fatih
This is by far the best of the PM systems for 1.5. The look of it is modern and not stale, it installs and functions perfectly. If you need a PM system, then this is the one for you.
This component looks promissing. I test it on my J1.5 site (i was glad finally there is a pms for 1.5) and it seems to be working ok. There are some bugs though.
Furthermore, I like that sending out messages is also possible from the backend (very cool!).
Everything looks very well, everything seems to be cared about well.

Icons should change, even they look ok, they seem to be from Mambo time....we dont want that dont we? :)

About the bugs:
1. I noticed if i use ' in the message it will not send the message and it will return with a database error.
2. Sending from backend, even if i want to send mass messages, it still needs me to choose users, i feel this is weird.

The developer is planning on working on many of the wishes i have for a PMS:
+ Implentations with firebord and Community builder

One he didnt put on his to do list, but which I would like him to put on his to do list is:
+ the search window that opens is not really nice, as it is AJAX, I guess it would be possible that, while putting in the letters, it will seach immidiatly within the users
+ also in search, the window sometimes goes in front of the sendto box, so, the user will not know what names he already put in. (so I suggest not a popup, but Clexus-like popupscreen directly under the field.
+ a popup or a message near your username with "you got mail" would be also very handy.

All reported and confirmed bugs have been fixed in v0.9.1
Please always use one the latest SVN version of joomla, when using JAM.

This component is very good. Since it is new, so there surely has some minor bugs. But it really can work.
