ObjectClarity Fireboard Discussbot Plugin

This is the best Fireboard discussbot going. It makes adding tags to articles unnecessary and has plenty of options in the config page. Try this one out, you won't be disappointed.
Updated to version 1.0.4 to use a cross reference table, FB smilies and many other features.
Version 1.0.8d is the last version produced for Fireboard.

It took me less than 5 minutes to download and install this great plugin!

It just works!
You can have forum comments right at the bottom of your article. There are several great settings for how to display, link them, and set them up. Great community feature for your website.

It does have 2 bugs.

1. The settings to auto link it to the forums don't work so you have to manually link each article to the forums.

2. It doesn't handle quotation marks well. There is " markup in the forums and a [/quote] markup on the articles, and it displays code garbage instead of the correct quote symbol.

A great plugin which simplifies in a very fonctional way the possibility to comment articles.
Thanks. Bye
This is a really cool stuff. I have been wondering for long how to connect forum and content and here is the solution. For my purpose the "automatic" way to link content articles in category and forum is very nice. What could be improved is the way this mapping is given. Currently if you want a content category, let say "book" to be bound to the a forum category, let say "book reviews", you have to indicate this a pair of id in the config panel. While this is functional, this is quite painful. Anyway, this is plugin is really nice. It solve a very important problem: having discussion related to content. Just download the component. It is worth.

This is a verry nice bot works great with J1.0.X & FB1.0.4, but has some "minor" incompatibilities with J1.5.X & FB1.0.4 maybe because of those last 2 that aren`t bug free yet.

This is a great bot... But I have a trouble this, when I activate frontpage link, my frontpage css crushed. Other pages ok., but in frontpage css doesn't work. Because of this I'd not use in frontpage....

This product is great and also his personal support.
Very few developers give such a great support like him.

This product is awesome. It has so many options and is extremely easy to install. Plus, the maker of the mambot is so incredibly helpful and quick to respond (2 days at the most). I have to say that in its current condition it is great.

Customization is also easy as most visual needs are in a single CSS file.

Note: all news need an extra line break between paragraphs. For correct spacing in the forums (a line break and paragraph works best as it will look the same in the forum as on the site)
Owner's reply

Newer versions of the bot account for the extra line break to keep the paragraph spacing from the original article.

Thanks for the input!

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the developer for this bot! I am absolutely blown away by how much this little bot can do and how much thought went into it's design. All the features are completely customizable, set up is a breeze, just read the directions.
Running perfect with J1.1.13 and all the bugs seamed to be gone in plugin version 04.

Finally after a long time the greatest discussbot for Fireboard has made it to the Joomla Extensions directory!
This bot imitates the one used on bestofjooomla.com and has lots of great functions u really do never want to miss again. Please do not compare it to any other discussbot or dicuss or comment feature that works with fireboard - THIS IS THE BEST.
Thanks Mark for finally submitting it to the grand public here on JED!
Thanks Mark!
