This mambot uses The 301 Redirect
The best way to redirect those pages is by using something called a "301 Redirect". What this 301 redirect does, is it blatantly redirects to a different page when it is triggered, what makes the 301 redirect the best, is that not only does it accomplish your redirect, it does it safely, no having to worry about the search engines penalizing you for it! To be specific, the 301 redirect tells the browser , or in other cases, it tells the search engines "Hey this page has been moved , here is the correct URL!".
Very simple to use, all you need to know is the new URL. Then in the page you wish to move or delete add the following code. It'll add the redirect code to your page.

I'm mostly using FireFox.
I installed SBD 301 Redirect and found it working in FireFox and did not checked it for IE or Opera. But next morning I discovered that nothing is redirected in IE and Opera. So I have to uninstall it and find another redirect extension (to say truth almost all simply doesn't work).

Hi, sorry you have had trouble. We have updated the 1.5 Native version and tested it and it works in all browsers tested - check: http://joomla15.simplebydesign.co.uk/, then Content Layouts or Features for the redirect. If you have any issues with our plugins please let us know via email or forums so we can try to fix them. Many Thanks

More, after having suggested the author a new feature he has pubblished a new version very quickly!!

I'm waiting for the version that will be able to redirect a single specific user to a single specific content item; it seems the author in his forum has confirmed that will be the next upgrade.

I was looking for this component since a lot of time! Easy to use and configure.
Only a little observation: on the instructions was only clear (there is, but only at the end) that to activate the redirection you must you remove the space between { and sbdredirect): {sbdredirect newwebpage}
