Just using this patch and allready very very happy! Finally full control of your SEO settings. No rubbish with titles, you can use ! , etc. Also able to set noodp, nosnippet and noarchive for every page. Easy to install, just copy some files to the correct maps.
I really hope this patch will be part of Joomla 1.6! Great thanks to the creator(s) of this patch. This will really help in easy configuration for google!
I love it!

No complains with this patch. Works perfect. Would be great if it is made a part of the core Joomla SEO instead of being a patch :)

This is a core hack, so you need to update it after each core upgrade which is explained all over their website, so I'm not sure why people are complaining about it.
On thier website, they claim it will be part of the core system in Joomla 1.6, which would be amazing to see.
http://www.joomlatwork.com/products/free-downloads/seo-patch-joomla-15.html
It works perfect and does exactly what i need it to do, and also looks seamless, it doesn't look like something has crashed into my clients site.
It also adds extra SEO fields to the content pages as well as the main global config where you get a new tab specifically for SEO and custom control of the Meta Tags.
Excellent work guys, this should have been part of the core a long time ago.
Regards
Ian

I like others lost all of me titles and keywords when i upgraded my version of Joomla. Luckily, i realized that in addition to upgrading joomla you have the update the seo patch as well. Once the SEO patch was updated all of me keywords and titles appeared again.
Overall this patch is great and it really gives you the ability to adjust titles, descriptions, and keywords for each page.

Unfortunately, I am agreed with the last comments.
As soon as I updated to 1.5.10, title, description and keywords disappeared.
I was very happy with this tool, all my sites have it installed.
Guys, you have a good tool, but this kind of "bugs" are unacceptable.
I lost month of hard work.

This is just a SEO illusion that will not do anything else than spend your time and money.
Yesterday patch 1.5.10 for joomla was released and I updated my installation as I had to do. But with the joomla update applied this "SEO patch" was disabled since it was only for J1.5.9. This means that I had lost all my metadata informations that I had entered in their software for about 150 articles.
There were 2 options for me :
1. Back up to the state before J1.5.10 update.
2. Wait for theese people to release the updated "SEO patch" that isn't released yet!
And imagine what was my 3nd otion:
3. Buy the "extented version of SEO Patch!!!! that isn't related with joomla updates since it uses xml files, recovers all the entered data from non-paid patch e.t.c.
I bought it and I realised that is not fully compatible with joomfish and multilanguage content and it has a lot of bugs like loosing html code of articles when you edit their metadata e.t.c. They are also picky in their support forum and they answer only the easy questions.
Finally it's an illusion today, at least for google, to spent so much time for metadata, hoping that your site will be ranked higher.
I must add that if somebody go to article manager and parameters and change filtering options to :
Filter groups -> Registered
Filter type -> Blacklist
everything seems to work fine!

This patch is core necessity for most users. Its really great to have this patch but here are my latest observations which I have noticed them
For Joomla 1.5.9 version everything works fine except it just adds a hyphen (-) at end of text in the page title. I could not figure out why this was happening. Also the file currently available for download is showing some archive errors.
The patch used to work perfectly when I applied for my Joomla version 1.5.2

This could be a great patch if not for one critical error: it stores the keywords incorrectly. This means that any Joomla function that relies on keywords - like Relateds modules - will fail. Then you'll have to uninstall all those files in all those directories and re-do all your Metadata work.
What's worse, this issue was brought up last year but the developers neither responded nor fixed the problem.
If you are never going to use anything like Related, then this flaw won't cause you problems. In that case, this is worth using because otherwise it does what it says it will and is the best, most convenient means for having separate Page Title and Meta Title.
Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Thanks for the extension. Exactly what I was looking for. Works well with SH404SEF. Joomla needs it. Keep doing the good work.

Big improvement. Joomla needed more SEO tools and this achieves that goal.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
Works great, ties into Joomla core very nicely.
You can set a generic metadata for all your pages or set them individually for Title tag, Description, Keywords, Robots, Copyright.
The only little problem I had was setting the homepage metadata, I was trying to set it to the actual article featured on my homepage, but I soon realised it should be set on the Menu item "Home". Same Metadata fields are included in there as well. Swell job. 5/5

This is a good extension. But there is one big bug in it. I have installed it on three joomla sites and on two of them I get the text "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/mywebsite/components/com_content/views/frontpage/view.html.php on line 129" on the Frontpage.
This is very frustration and I had to manually go change view.html.php. I change line 129 from "foreach ( $field_array as $key => $val) {" to "/* foreach ( $field_array as $key => $val) */ {". I dont know the funktion of that line. Perhaps I have deleted some of the extentions function now.
There is also the following text above the news in the news page: "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/mywebsite/components/com_content/views/category/view.html.php on line 142". So I have decided not to use the news. Please fix this bug so we can use this extension without hacking and ignoring the news.

I uploaded the patch and it works! This is a very useful mod that adds a fully functional SEO manager into the Joomla 1.5.6 Core. The only issue I have is an error when I revalidated my XHTML.
Potential Issues
The following missing or conflicting information caused the validator to perform guesswork prior to validation. If the guess or fallback is incorrect, it may make validation results entirely incoherent. It is highly recommended to check these potential issues, and, if necessary, fix them and re-validate the document.
1. Warning No Character Encoding Found! Falling back to UTF-8. None of the standards sources gave any information on the character encoding labeling for this document. Without encoding information it is impossible to reliably validate the document. As a fallback solution, the "UTF-8" encoding was used to read the content and attempt to perform the validation, but this is likely to fail for all non-trivial documents.
My XHTML was validating without errors before I copied the patch now it is NOT marked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional

This problem was correct in 1.5.5 version of joomla and it continue in the new 1.5.6, seo patch has its new version for joomla 1.5.6 but it makes the double title issue comes again when i replace the component folder and all the tmpl files.

Why is not included in the original Joomla Download?
This extension should be include in Joomla's Default installation files, it is a must for SEO professionals. I downloaded the zip file, uncompress it and then upload the files one by one. This is not a automatic install, you have to do it manual. Tested and works fine. Now I'm able to customize the tile, description, and keywords of any of the my webpages.

The script is easy to install and brings functionality to Joomla that should have been included in the DEFULT install!
[note:The script wont/cant be installed as a standard component. You need to extract it and upload it via FTP to the joomla site]
Keep up the great work guys and thanks again!

I've installed this patch, and I was hoping it will not destroy my instalation, because I already configured a 3RD party component that seem to work, even with VirtueMart 1.1.
BUT, no improvement.

Delete all of your keywords and description info.
This SEF patch generates double description & keywords if you don't. And that is defenitely NOT SEO friendly...
The bug is reported in other reviews here. The forum has open threads that are totaly ignored at the site regarding this bug. This might of course be related to that they probably want to be paid for the support, maybe, i just gotta guess when they ignore the posts like this...
Imagine how much work there is installing this component if you got let's say 500 articles - omg
Not to forget that it ain't all that checks their html code to often. My guess is that as long as long as they see a nice url after installing this comp - they are pleased, not knowing that they got a cluster of keywords etc)
I am not rating this as Verry Poor based upon the code it self. Just because of the small issues that are not being handled at a profesional level - cause the bug is MAJOR.
I of course will rate this totaly different if this "on install issue" gets fixed. But after my first atempt and now looking forward to 4-5 hours of work fixing my keywords etc = i give this a Verry Poor rating so far.

Owner's reply
The double META tags are solved now. Also the META tags will NOT be removed.
