I decided I wanted to create a recipe website to showcase popular recipes from around the world and came across the rapid recipe plug-in on the joomla official website. I tried the 14 day trial and found it was exactly what I needed to accomplish the job, so decided to purchase the full version.

I am glad to say I have had no problems since purchasing the full version and have had no problems since then, including compatability problems with the joomla template I am using.

I did need some help with various technical issues at the beginning as I am no expert in PHP and was pleasantly surprised with level of support given. The official website provides an excellent ticket support system and you promptly receive a reply. The support team even offer to carry out extra functionality to this extension should you require it at reasonable rates.

I love the recipes administration method employed by this extension and adding YouTube videos to your articles is a breeze.

Also, CSS is easy to implement using their well structured method.

In short, no problems and highly recommended extension.

I've had it up and running for a month now and it does everything it promises. Like any user, I have a wish list of features I'd like to see implemented, but Rick and Konstantin have created a great product that I imagine will just improve. Well done!

Rapid Recipe is a great extension. It has a beautiful layout and the back-end is extremely easy to manage. Most will love this component.
I would have given this component 5 stars if it worked with ARTIO SEF, but it does not. It is the only component that I use that has a problem with ARTIO SEF. You lose functionality with the page navigation when you have more than 10 recipes in a specific sub-category. If this were to ever get fixed, I would give this component 10 stars.

I love this recipe manager. I purchased it and was up and running only a few hours later with the component customized the way I wanted it. It has great features that help your site interact with users such as favorites or adding their on recipes. On installing the component it also installs the modules which is even better! Keep up the good work.
They offer a free trial and I would recommend trying it out. I use a yootheme template and have 0 problems.

I've recently installed this componet on my site and it is a great looking addtion to my website, and my visitors love it. I'm using joomla 1.5.7 and it works great. I had a few very minor things that needed to be fixed and they had it fixed in a day and even did a follow-up to make sure it's working ok! GREAT customer support, GREAT looking design and well though out. You can upload images, video, step by step "how to's" and even rate the recipies with nice looking graphics. The layout is perfect, very neat looking and clean design.

The extension is great.. tons of features like 'add to favorites', 'email to a friend' etc. etc.. even a slick sliding menu system..

And I very rarely, if ever, write poor reviews but we users must know about these things.

When you use this with extension with any template that accesses the mootools of joomla - say a rockettheme or yootheme template with 'moo-styled' menu, sliding submenu modules, or even something as simple as a hover effect.. all of those will NOT work with this extension.

Luckily Rockettheme and Yootheme both code their templates in such a way that these features simply degrade to CSS effects, which is nice.

But, what about the sliding menu that no longer works because of this extension?? How can you navigate from it? You contact support right??

Well, I did, and I have the support tickets to show for it..that's about it. All they said is that they guarantee this extension to work with joomla's included templates, not any others and it must be a template problem.. since very few users have responded with such a conflict.

Other than that.. it's a great extension.

Easy to install, easy to set up and easy to add recipes from both front end and back. I had this up and running on chopchoprecipes.com for over a month now and so far I’m very impressed. Spoken to some of the people the now use the site and they are also impressed.

The component itself looks really good and integrates well into my existing site theme and the modules are simple but effective and configurable.

The only thing I have had a slight issue with is the Quick Nav Menu which seems to have a conflict with Java script but doesn’t actually stop the component or any of the modules from working.

I have been using Rapid Recipe for 5 months now and I have had no glitches as yet to report. I am very pleased with the product and the numerous functions that the product offers including some 50+ configuration controls from admin. My only wish at this time was that there was a batch upload and because I am re-purposing the product in a non food site the ability to turn some controls off.

Support has been quick and I have been pleased with the free updates for the product.

We have been working with Rapid Recipe at allfoodsnatural.com for well over a year –the fact we could use such a great component was one of the reasons why we decided to install Joomla!

This component was easy to install, it works as it is supposed to, upgrades have been straightforward and support answers fast if you have any question –and to any suggestions. The product has been improved continuously –we like very much the recent SEO friendly URLs.

I had a few issues with the install. This is written for Joomla 1.0 and simply will not install under 1.5. I wrote for support and received it quickly. Once installed I was very pleased with the ease of use.

This is a good product because it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It will allow you to organize all of your recipes, it's easy and the out put is clean and attractive. The administration layout flows very well from description, to ingredients, to steps and has room for additional comments. Then you click some check boxes to categorize your recipes into categories that you create. I just don't see how it could be much easier.

I wanted to move the eval version to another domain and had some issues but support was very responsive and my site is up and running now with about 30+ healthy recipes and I'll be adding more at HelpAFatGuyOut.com in the next week or so. This is my first step away from another CMS so I'm learning Joomla as I type.

I'd like to see a few additions to this product and I might approach them about that but it works fine and is worth the small cost.

Easy to implement. I did have some questions about the configuration and needed some help with the most recent upgrade - Rick and his team were fantastic. In most cases answers and/or fixes were delivered in less than 24 hours.

This is an extension that does what it says with very little customization.

I purchased their extension, it installed easily and ran smoothly. I did have a bit of an issue using the trial version because I had a different extension installed that does not work with AJAX, though this is not a reflection on Rapid Source - Just worth mentioning in case someone else is in the same position, fortunately the 'conflict' only presents itself on the trial. =]

I also had Rick do some customization for me, and he did a fantastic job. Answered my questions thoroughly, had a speedy turn-around, explained everything in a clear & understandble manner - and basically could not have been better to work with.

I have recommended this software to others on my own and have no reservations recommending it within the Joomla site. Many extensions are free, but when they involve the massive amount of code and design that this one does, along with updates and a help desk, the nominal feee that Rapid Source charges for this extension is absolutely within reason and acceptable. Hopefully they will add more extensions to their collection!

This is a must have extension. Installation and setup is VERY easy and straight forward. The documentation on their web site is excellent. Rapid Recipe is fully and easily customizable and it effortlessly and seamlessly integrated with my site. Most important the support is awesome! Thank you Rick.

I tried all the other recipe items listed here but Rapid Recipe was the best. I wasn't thrilled about having to pay for it but after trying the others I just wasn't satisfied. I had trouble installing it at first but Rick just installed it for me - great service, by the way - and I've been using it ever since.

The only reason I rated this 4 stars (instead of 5) is that I think the price is a little high. Note however, that I paid the $60 bucks.

Upgrading, service, and everything else, including the ability to customize this product has just been great. A great experience overall, particularly for someone just getting into their own website.

The extended family has decided to create a family recipe book and now I'm glad that I have Rapid Recipe; My in-laws are not that web-savvy and this product will make it easier for them.

My choice for recipe management indeed.

Pros:
- Install was simple and direct. I was up and running in minutes.
- Effective UI. Learning to navigate the system was easy (less than 10 minutes). Adding recipes was straightforward and "hooking" them into the Cuisine/Ingredient/etc catalog was direct.
- Depth: A carefully edited tool set which provides all the structures and features required to catalog and administer 1,000s of recipes.
- Well thought out CSS. For design reasons I needed to tightly integrate rapid-recipe into my existing website. The rapid-recipe CSS made my modifications easy and straightforward.
- I get to focus on content. The tool has allowed me to think more about my recipes than the website. Exactly what I wanted.
- Customer service. I contacted them regarding a feature request and found them to be the most responsive and receptive I've encountered in the industry in 20 years.

Cons:
Not many & certainly not major. But based upon my experience with their customer service -- I trust that they will listen and balance my suggestions along with other customers' requests.

Bottom line:
I'm a happy camper.

Rapid Recipe is hands down the best Recipe component for Joomla that I have used. Before trying Rapid Recipe I suffered through the lack of flexibility with the Ricettario component as well as the complete lack of support. Rapid Recipe successfully diagnosed any support questions that I had immediately and returned a solution. As stated in a previous review the also added some of my suggestions into the new version! Wow!!!

The learning curve for this component is very short making it easy to apply to your site. Also the different modules also make displaying your Recipes in an exciting manner a reality.

I recommend Rapid Recipe to EVERYONE...

I have to tip my hat to Rick for his excellent customer service. Never before with any other 3rd party product has service been so great. The software is nothing less either. It is very easy to navigate and learn. It offers an easy solution to maintaining your recipe database. I highly recommend this product as well as the different packages, where you can bundle several things together for a discount. Well done!

This is a great tool for building a recipe site and a huge time saver. It was extremely easy to use and I had the site up and running in no time. It's also very easy to use on the front end when people are adding recipes. Highly recommended.
