jHide Plugin

JHide allows you to put content in your pages that will only display if the user is logged in. This means you dont need to have two versions of some pages , one for public and one for registered, if the information is very similar. Once you have installed and published the module you can go through and add the extra content for registered members. In your page content you place the information/html for signed in members between the tags {reg} blah blah {/reg}. This will only show up if the user is logged in. **UPDATE Hi all, I have modified the module to respect the {noreg} tag as well. Any content placed inside these tags will only appear for users who are not logged in. {noreg} blah blah {/noreg}

I am working on a site that is only for registered members and I was battling with a home page that needed to be a login and member's home page at the same time - this solves my problem.
A VERY big thank you.
Dear Developer ,

My client needed a way to hide a PayPal button because non-members were clicking to register for their events at a discounted rate.

No need for a long review on this one. Does what it says with ease. Took 30 sec. to install, 30 sec. to use. Well done.

Owner's reply

Hi there, I have replied in the forum. Could you please let me know what version of Joomla you are using? Have just made available a version for 1.5 in legacy if that helps.

great plugins made me solve the compatibility problem of rokaccess and jacl plus! just what i've been looking for
I also agree, it would be really great to have ability to hide content from the front page (from particular article), but to show it when it's viewed in full view. I am still looking for something like that or some way of doing that with what I already have.

Please add the {fp} type of tag for hiding content from fp.

thx

Good idea and really tiny and smart plugin!

Suggested to extend it with {fp} and {/fp} to display content only if article is displayed in the frontpage and {nonfp} and {/nonfp} to display content if the article is displayed somewhere else.

That will help e.g. to display a small foto on the frontpage and a large foto when clicked on 'more…'. Got a positive reaction on that suggestion from the author, so lets see what happens… :-)

I was just looking for something like this for months. On some of my websites, I needed to show some content for guests that shouldn't be seen when you're members ( this can be site map, some articles etc ..). And with Joomla!, basically, you can hide content to someone when he has a lower level to you, but reverse wasn't possible .. until this extension.

Thank you very much !
