This works really well and saves a lot of time.
Easy to install and use. Many thanks for creating this.
It looks well and I have great respect for the developer spending a lot of time for building an extension so far. Keep up the good work!

But I had to lose it because I didn't find the option to link to an anchor within the article.
See, I don't want users to be redirected to the top of an article but I want them to go to a specific part of text within the article. It looks like that this functionality is not in Linkr yet.

If, after all, the above functionality is still within Linkr then I was not able to get it to work. This means that, as a request to the ones who know how it works, if it's there, a short documentation in guidelines "how to" could help out a lot of people.

But once again, lot's of respect though!

That's a very low score! If you mean linking to anchors within the same article, most editors already do that. Linking to anchors in other articles is a good idea, and has been added to the "ToDo" list. If you have other suggestions, you can use the support page.

After getting 'network is busy' errors on my site, my tech guy at my hosting company told me the problem was with linkr:

"The main problem appears to be unoptimized MySQL queries. An optimized MySQL query executes in a fraction of a second and uses very little resources. We have noticed over the last few weeks, that your database has been under the top usage user for quite some time. I searched for the query which I see many times showing up in the top list of slow queries and am 99% sure it is the linkr plugin."

I really loved this component and plugin, but even I noticed a significant slow down when visiting my site for the two weeks I had it installed.

Hopefully this review, if read by the developer, can help them understand the importance of writing efficient MySQL queries. Once I disabled Linkr, everything returned to normal. Keep up the good work as I am looking forward to the next release that I hope will fix this deal-breaker problem. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this. Maybe this has something to do with the Related Links? If you would be kind enough to drop by the support page and give more detailed information, like the features you were using, the Linkr version, etc, I think this could benefit a lot of people: http://codes.statsful.com/linkr/support

This has cured the biggest downfall in joomla's core, why it is not standard in any joomla install I do not know.

I installed the Super install file which was an absolute breeze! Had one small problem which was fixed with minutes by going to support pages then downloading a patch.

In short: Simple top install, makes linking in articles simple and quick, works perfectly and VERY well documented. If only all developers made components/modules/plugins as simple and understandable as this one!

Well done guys for a brilliant component!

This helps solve one of the biggest annoyances when putting articles together. Does exactly what I hoped it would, advertises to do and works like a champ. Thank you for this excellent extension.

I love this plugin. It looks nice in content and really simple to use.

One problem I found with 3w validation.

To get it fixed you have to add period either at the end of line 366 or at the beginning of the next line. Something like this:

#367 .'';

Thanks for a such handy add-on. Keep up the good work!
Its has to go to the core.

Just installed Linkr and liking it. No I'm not, I'm Loving it!!

One small usability issue (in my eyes anyway):
When using the drop down menu when selecting an article to link to, it was a tiny bit confusing.

Why is this extension not in the Joomla! core?

It is hard to find something wrong with the extension when you have only been using it for 5-10 mins (apart from the extension failing miserably - which this one did not do at all).
Linking to other content is the one thing that has continually plagued my clients. For many users, if it's not point and click, they are not going to be able to figure it out.

This extension solves that problem. It installs easily, and works exactly as advertised. I have installed this on every client site I service and have not had a single issue and my clients LOVE it.

Like the title says, this should be part of the core code and I am surprised that it's not. Very well done.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most valuable add-ons for a site with numerous articles.

Thanks,

Wonderfully elegant and simple solution to what has been a feature that has been greatly needed but always lacking. This should be rolled into the next release of joomla as part of the standard package.

I have lost a lot of time looking for this extension however all I wanted was a simple way to upload files. It took me forever to find this extension because it referenced links, not uploading documents so once I figured out it was linking that everyone referred to and that this extension did file uploads as well, with all the parameters it has.... Yahoo! problem solved.

A fabulous little extension. As someone who uses FCKeditor, I wasn't sure why I would need Linkr, but it facilitates linking to menu items and I'm sure has other great features too that I've yet to discover.

Exactly what I was looking for! Installs without any problem, setup is no problem, use is easy. Great, thanks!
byDiesel9a1 on October 24, 2008
Very easy to install. I was worried that it may be complicated as there are 3 files to install (component, plugin and image) but installed and activated all.

Extremely easy to use. Like mentioned by others, I also think this should be a core component as it is often a requirement to provide a link to another article from within an existing article on the same website.

Well done!

No installation problems on 1.5.6 and works great! Thank you for this great extension. It would be nice if it was part of the core program.

This is a very useful component and plugin, muy customer allways have problem linking articles, and take me time to explain to them how to do it, with this plugins is very easy!, great gob! and thank!
It's easy to install and use. I installed it in joomla 1.5.6. It works good with my tinyMCE 2.0. Pretty easy to find and link articles. My system is SEO enabled and the link this extension produced did not conflict with my system. In other word, this extension produce search engine friendly urls. Thanks again for the extension.
