I needed a plugin to let me put MP3 files into articles. This one nicely wraps JW Player. It doesn't natively support playlists (yet! hint hint), but with a little tweaking of the clearly-written denvideo.php, I even got that to work.

Don't know if this is still being developed, but if it is - adding a thumbnail-image on the video would really make this perfect. The black video-window is just sad to see.

Other than that - this does exactly what it is supposed to. Installs like a charm, and embeds video of all kinds in your content.

I use it on several sites with both wmv and avi, and no problems at all.

Hey Denvideo is awesome ... got it loaded and working greatly. Although, it would be nice if thumbnail at the first frame prior to each video start tyhat would really put it over the top ...

I have been looking for a plugin for video files (swf)that would allow me to setup custom sizes for each video. This was easy to install and worked brilliantly the first time. Good work!
I`ve spent two days to find a multimedia component for my site and I have it. It consists of several installing zip files but it`s very easy in use after installation. I recommend!

I was looking for a player that i could quickly use to pop some vids onto my j1.5 homepage and a few others (in a module) and denVideo was as perfect a fit as can be! Between download, install and being ready I must have spent 10 minutes or less. This player rocks! Just throw anything at it and it works! Splendidly too.

Thanks for the great extension guys!

If, like me, you host your media files on another server, or you like to include vids from YouTube etc, this is a flexible extension, which is as easy as pie to configure!

In case you are just planning to install the plugin, make sure the URL you include is minus the "htt" at the front - i.e. it looks like: p://www.adomain.com/avideo - to get it working.

Superb extension which is a treat to use! Thanks.

Easy install, easy operation, no bugs.

But!
If you include an mp4 video it simply embeds the file and the user needs quicktime installed to watch the movie.

There is absolutely no point in an extension which just puts the embed code around a movie file, since an editor like JCE-Editor can do this as well.

It would make sense if the extension would use a Flashplayer like JW-player so that every user with flash installed can watch ANY file type you upload...

So.. good extension.. but for what?
Install JCE editor and you have far more userfriendliy WYSIWYG and can embed all sorts of video and even browse for them on your server.

5 sec' DL.
10 sec' Install.
20 sec' Enable.
20 sec Menu.
DUNE.
and its working.

if you need simple quick, install.
[do not budder to make coffee]

it met my needs so to me not less then excellent!.
due simplicity and lake of "Gadget" and extra buttons to play, to all user - rate should be good.
It would be great if this plugin and the module could show and play from a youtube playlist of vids. Sadly it's only good as a one file player. Any chances of creating a plugin and mod that allows a right/left or bottom playlist with thumbsnails of videos from youtube, google, etc? It would be great because so far nothing exists but the very complicated JW player which is too technical to understand.

I am very satisfy to use this extension. Thank you.

I used to run AllVideos, but the new 100-lb gorilla Reloaded version introduced a lot of bugs so I gave denVideo a try.

What a great extension, the support was better than with any work I've ever done.

The reason I decided to write a review however is to talk about the load times.

I didn't realize how much the other product was bogging down my site until I switched.

denVideo is truly quick, it really loads as fast as possible, and my site is cruising now. Thanks 3den.
Good work!
I first tried to use the v1.0 module on an old joomla site that I never got around to updating and denvideo worked, but generated errors on refreshing the page. Like I said, old site and the denvideo version for joomla1.x is old too.

However, the plugin/mambot for joomla1.x is fully up-to-date, so I gave that a spin instead. Works perfectly.

1) upload an flv into /images/stories
2) module --> New
3) ensure include mambots is turned on
4) custom content is just one centered line of two words!
{denvideo somename.flv}
That's it!

You can set default width, ht and autoplay or not in the mambot itself,so you don't have to keep typing it.

I love simple things that 'just work'. Great job, thank-you.
It doesn't get any easier than this! This takes all the work out of displaying a video in content.
