Google Calendar ComponentLanguage

ADMIN edit - Updated May 2008 **UPDATED** Google Calendar is a component that will allow you to embed Google Calendars on your Joomla 1.5 site with ease! You'll be amazed at the flexibility allowed and the degree of customization. Need directions? Should be pretty easy. Step 1. The calendar sources will be where you place the HTML/XML code given to you from Google. Just name it for you to find later, and then place the HTML code. (The XML is not used yet.) Step 2. Create a new calendar. Here you can specify the options for the calendar and then click on "Add Calendar" at the bottom. You can then choose the calendar that you've added (as a source earlier). You can also specify the color for that calendar. This component supports multiple-calendars so you can continue to add calendars and choosing colors. Then click save. You should see a list of the calendars you've created. NOTE the ID next to the calendar you want to create a link to on the front side. Step 3. Go to the menu you want to add the link to - add a Link Component, on the next screen on the right you should see a Component Parameters. Click this drop down and here you enter the calendar ID. That's it. Easy isn't it? We thought so! If you continue to have troubles or need additional assistance feel free to post in the forums or email us and we'll do our best to answer your questions.

Editor's Note
  • This extension requires registration to download.
also this one does not work with google apps.

This means that worse case a info will show up that some appointments will not be shown due to security reasons :-(
First this tool seemed to work.
Then I realized:
- No events show when you keep your google-account private
- The tool is very buggy. Try to create new calandar sources and calendars, then to change them later - a lot of things don't work
- Gudging by the forum on the Tool's homepage, MANY people have the same problems

Hi, Tried a few Google Calendar components, but this one is far the best! Having Calendar-sources (link to your Google calendar) combined in one calendar is simple and brilliant. Here's what I'm (going to) do with it:
About 8 subsidiaries of a church use one Joomla instance. Each subsidiary has its own Google calendar account. Each account has several sub-agenda's like church service dates, meetings, etc. On the central Church service page ALL services of all subsidiaries are shown. On the subsidiary pages only their services agenda is shown!
Thanx for a great component!
PS. Could not find any modules...

The idea of using a source calendar and then other calendars to stack on top of the initial one is just brilliant!
Gives you, more or less, a limitless amount of calendars (Events, Holidays, Weather, Birthdays, et cetera) to display ... all one 1 calendar! Allows the viewers to toggle the calendars on and off in the top right corner. This really takes advantage of what Google intended their calendar system to be. This, coupled with GCalendar is great too! The calendars show up in GCalendar and then you could use the "Upcoming Events" module from calendar to pick and choose which calendar it's going to display for.

This is a must have. Simple to setup ... may take a 5 minute learning curve if you don't do it correctly the first time (Setup a bunch of "Sources" first THEEEEEEEN a calendar) In the end, you should have 1 calendar and then multiple sources to display on the calendar.

I've had waaaaay too much coffee this morning, so I'll stop there. Hats off to the development here!

Says it works with 1.5 native, and it works.
Register, download, install, cut and paste google link, create cal, add to menu, BINGO.

Does exactly what the publisher says.

Kudos!
