Dean... thanks for such an easy module. I am relatively new to Joomla... and I was able to get this up and running in 2 mins or less, including the download time! I only ran into one issue... which was my fault..I put the module in a pane not being used by my template... but when I noticed this I just threw the module in the RSS feed pane and was able to get my Analytics results as normal. Thank you so much for a great, easy to use, not overly complicated module... and FREE too! Good work!
I can't figure the interest of using it. First, I saw it as a module, and I thought "wow, that should be a plugin". Then, as I expected, I saw that there was a template modification to do, so I ask : what is the interest to charge the execution with a module processing when you can avoid this by inserting directly the google code in the template?
Since you must edit the template to use this module (in fact, you don't if you use an existing position but the doc doesn't tell it), why don't you directly insert the right code?

Well, if you deploy several sites with the same template and a prepack, it could be interesting.

Thankyou cfab for your honest opinion. The main purpose of this extension is to ease the ability to update your google code as new features come out. This way they change the template once and just update the module when I (and google) release new features.

I can see your point in that why don't you just put the code in but not everyone is as adept at web site development as both you and I are and maybe they don't want to be.

I'm sorry that this module does not meet your needs, but I'm sure I can't please everyone.

Regards
Dean

Does exactly what it says. Brilliant work

Cheers!

Works great and set up was very simple. But one thing should be noted. I by no means want to take away from the authors work because it is a fine module, but your going to alter the template html by adding code for module placement. You could very simply just add the Google Analytics code there and be done with it. The module does allow to run the old Urchin tracking too though.

All in all a good contribution... thanks!
I dont see any documentation telling us to do this, but be sure to put this in the debug position, otherwise it wont work. Great module- fast and simple.
Owner's reply

You can use the debug position if you want too, but I don't recommend it as it does not have a style. Please read the instructions at http://www.tedesco.net.au/joomla/3-janalytics. I show you how to add a new position called "googleanalytics" which is below the "debug" position.

This is a better and more controlled way to do it which doesn't interfere with any debug functionality.

Download, follow installation instructions on their website and it works.

I installed J!Analytics on several sites, several months ago, and it works well. A few days ago I used Firefox add-on Firebug for the first time and it reported a Google Analytics error on my site. I noticed the same error on joomla.org so this extension wasn't going to be the problem. The error is well-documented as a conflict between Google's ga.js script and browser ad-blockers. I emailed this extensions developer about this, and overnight he responded with ver 1.2, which works for me.

Quick, simple install, clear install instructions, worked first time for me. Thank-you!
Very easy and stable:

download, login as admin on your site and install.

Open module, give your google UA code in (copy paste from google) - offcourse you need a google account for this -
Enable the module (preferable in the lowest position there is (i.e. footer)) and it works like a charm!

Thank you for this simplicity!

Of course you can make a theme/template with google analytics integrated, but working with such a module has a lot of advantages (install / deinstall, enable/disable on certain sections of your site, make a duplicate install to even use more UA codes (on different pages)etcetera.

Does what it says. Perfectly.
2 min = download, installation, setup, activation
Latest ga.js very much appreciated :)
Thank you!!
The module is really so simple it takes a lot to mess it up. I tried all of the top rated modules for analytics and none were as easy as this one. Also, the others had confusing parameters that were completely irrelevant.

For those that have trouble setting up. Follow the install guide on the website and give it some time to take affect. I did everything as stated, only it took a few minutes to kick in...which usually isn't the case.

Thanks for the module!

Simple to install and use, but very powerfull. I especially like the multi domain setting. Handy for those parked domains. Recommended.

Simple install, looks good, and is working great. Have my data from google and all is well. Assuming that there are no hidden ads embedded somewhere, I would say this is the simplest mod I have done.
Owner's reply

Definitely no hidden anything, especially ads. Glad you found it useful.
