Intuitive WYSIWYG drag and drop Joomla form builder. Smart Former is a modern form builder.
N.B. SmartFormer provides ability to create multi-page forms. Yet if your forms are large and if you plan to keep plenty of forms' submissions in DB - we recommend use SmartFormer Gold instead.

I've tried to use it in a Joomla 1.5.23 with no luck.
First the postive side:
- Easy to install;
- Lots of functionalities;
- Seems powerfull.
Now the negative and really bad part:
- You are able to create the form, but when you add it to the Menu it gives you an error message and no form is displayed;
- Their forum has questions about this issue, but the answers did no help and the post is locked;
- There is no contact to the developers for those who use the free version, when using the contact us form provided in their webpage.
Unfortunately, for me it is useless, but very promising.

Unfortunately, for me it is useless, but very promising.
I really like this extension it is so easy to use and would really like to utilise it on my website but it was seen as a pop up on my website by Google and my website subsequently lost it's #1 ranking in search results and was rejected by Google places because of this. If there was a work around to stop would use again but unfortunately now have to look for a new form generator.
I started out with Smart Former and then jumped to their Smart Former Gold product because it offered greater flexibility for my particular needs.
I had a couple of issues, but support was quick and friendly. One issue was something dumb I was doing, but support still treated me with respect. Good products, good people here.

I was just looking for the form builder and I tested many forms in extension directory and I found Smart Former but I didn't give a try and was looking for some extra efficient form builder but I didn't find anyone for free but when I tried Smart Former I wish I did a try once in the last couple of hours so I didn't waste my time I just found it and testing it, it was amazing experience to work with Smart Former it's like dream come true, my message fro all who are searching for extra efficient form builder please please please do not waste your time just give a try to Smart Former once I assure you will like it and forget every form builder,

I was looking for a simple free contact form. I came across this excellent piece that's been superbly created; it must have cost them all the efforts and sophistication but cost me nothing. Thanks a lot guys. I will be looking forward to donating when I'm a bit cashed up.
I am not sure why there is all this enthusiasm for this extension. My list of issues with it after trying to get it work for the last few hours is growing. It includes:
* the basic form on static page does not work, giving an error message (I'm not supposed to list the actual message here, correct?). There is a forum thread with the name of the error message showing a user with this continued problem who last posted on June 13 pleading for help. It's now July 20, and nothing further has been offered to assist this user.
* there is wording in the forum about how the form may not be working due to the free version being expired. Nowhere in the discussion of this extension does it talk about expiration.
* the WYSIWYG editor is maddening, as portions of the page go blank (and stay blank) as you move around the screen trying to select elements.
* even clicking on the form preview shows the form with elements floating all over the place, looking nothing like it does in the WYSIWYG editor.

Most of the time I use Smartformer , and is very satisfied with the output ....
Right now I am making a website which has to be in thai language , and that can not be done with Smart Former ... sadly enough ... As I see it the problem is with the interpreting and conversion into utf8 of text strings ... looked through the folders and as I see it it only supports latin letters

I HIGHLY recommend this extension to anyone who wishes to build a fully customizable form. It was simple to use and the pre-made samples were very helpful. I'm a newbie to joomla and extensions. I wasn't even sure if I would be able to install this component successfully. Not only was it easy to install but I had a polished-looking form working in no time!
I used the free smart former on one site and was so impressed with it, that I did a little reading on the Gold version since I was looking for something that would quickly and efficiently enable me to put together forms (data collection and display) that would reference fields in Community Builder and Project fork, so that I could pay community members in the context of given project. Making the form itself was cake (awesome WYSIWYG GUI) but ran into headaches with complex MYSQL queries, Ajax form updates and more -- Anticipating that I might have bitten off more than I could chew in terms of my www programming experience, I had purchased a month of support with my Smart Former Gold membership. IToris not only coached me through the logic of their system in a very timely manner, but also provided me with detailed PHP scripts / MYSQL queries for everything that I needed to do -- and when I still couldn't get it working, they logged into my site and got my first form working so I would a template to work from in the future. Money well spent for a very professional product supported by an excellent team!
So simple a novice could use it (I am using this on my very first website, so I'd know!) yet it is possible to make extremely complex forms. With no knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, XMl, et cetera, required, this is the ultimate form builder for anybody from a complete Joomla! novice to a professional web designer. I would recommend this component to anybody!
I'm rating this extension as excellent, given the fact that it's free. I tried a few other extensions but this one is a keeper. It will help you create very complex forms, very easily. The GUI is intuitive; it will take you just a few minutes to figure out how things work, no matter the degree of your expertise.
The only problem has to do with dragging & re-arranging the various elements around; it can be quite difficult sometimes. But as I mentioned, this jewel is free.

I tried 3 other non-commercial form extensions before I found this one. It installs with one button click perfectly and the user interface is very intuitive and easy to figure out. I had my first new form up and running in about 20 minutes. I's also very flexible when dealing with complicated forms with a lot of fields. I can't comment on support because I didn't need any. It just worked. Nice work and thanks for a really great extension.
