This is best comment extension for Joomla !!!
I installed 4.0.0 alpha 3 and I had a problem with the wrong time on post.
I tried to test the new version 4.0 beta 1 and everything is OK. One of the best extension of what I had the chance to try.

This is awesome. It works perfectly for what i am doing, the rating system is just what i need and its simple for my members. It doesnt load another page, it just works. My only wish is that you could have it pm or email the article author when a comment is posted.

I have this huge problem, when the user click on latest commet from the latest comment box it opens up the article but all the disabled blocks suddenly show up, i have user1 and right block disabled for all blog articles, but they show up if i click on one of the latest comments
that is a huge flaw
also you get this at the end of article url

and this causes duplicate content through the site

I find it very rude to speak about so many bugs and to refer to 0 actual bugs.
There is no duplicate content! ?comment_id=150&joscclean=1#josc150 is a parameter and URL parameters do not create duplicate content. You can read more on URL parameters here:

As I told you in the thread you started in our forum. The problem you are expiriencing has nothing to do with a bug in !joomlacomment or in joomla! You should just find the appropriate way to configure your system and learn what how to manage the itemid. For people interested in the so called "bug" you can read here:

This is perfect for me, i don't havep roblems with it, at least one: How do i do to be sent notification emails automatically when a comment is posted on a article?

In the present version such thing is not possible.
This feature will be implemented first in 4.1 since it requires a lot of database changes.

I am a fledgling programmer and after working in other areas I am getting back in programming and web developments.
Rather than writing my own from scratch, I tried Jcomment.
It did work EXACTLY as promised, and I did like a lot about it. I do have a few problems with this.
1) This needs to be simple module or component to install. Not a module and component.
2) This should grab the CSS from the template being used, to match the website. Rather than having to alter CSS created in the media folder.
3) Advertising. I had a REAL problem with this. I wasn't paying attention and installed this, to find the ads caused this to be BLOCKED by my company network. I didn't see them till I looked at my site using a text based browser (lynx).
For something simple and off the shelf that you don't care how this looks or about ads, this is fine.

Hi there!
You are actually referring to version 4.0 alpha3 and not 3.26 :)
I don't understand your first suggestion. Why should this be either a simple module or component? There is a module and component. The component is out there to be able to post comments and the module is to show additional information. This is the way joomla works.
2) This is very difficult. Most of the time the users have problems, because of joomlacomment's template grabbing css from the joomla template. And I actually don't get it - where is the problem with having its own css files?
3) The ads caused what to be blocked by your company network? This is experimental feature and is not going to work the same way it did in alpha3. And I have to admit, that it was not very user friendly how implemented - changed with beta1.
Finally, I'm open to suggestions. Please use the forum at compojoom.com to give us some additional feedback!

I installed JoomlaComment 3.26 and I'm a very newbie with Joomla. It's working great with Joomla 1.5.8 and has an amazing Back and Front-End. Congratulations to the developer! It's really easy to install and configure the way you want. The couple doubts I had, was solved by the support very quickly and in a kind way. Thanks a lot to Daniel! There is the Front-end pack Language for Portuguese-Br (Brazilian Portuguese).
I really recommend it, you won't regret! Download it now! The new version 4.0 has interesting feature, it's worthwhile to check it!

I needed to add comment capability to Articles instead of messing with a Blog module. This almost worked out of the box, but the guest comment I added to one of my articles wouldn't show up. I checked in the backend to make sure the comment was published, but no luck.
The other major issue is that it doesn't remember guest posting details (name, email, web site). This is crucial for commenters who comment often but don't like to register.

I've tried several Components for Comments and I'm using this one since 4-5 months.
You can customize the design, you’ve got several settings to adjust and the plugin system works great.
I’m using this component on 2 sites and none of them had real Spam-Issues (except one, but even the Spam was generated manually – no successful bot attacks).
The only disadvantages would be the current “only 1.5 legacy Mode” (they working on it) and maybe the “a bit hidden way of configuration” (For each component different settings select by DropDown list, no possibility to create a default setting for all, etc).
Even with this “disadvantages” (which most likely a question of own taste):
The Component is well made, works as it should and is currently the "first choice" in comment solutions!

Hi, I tried some 7 comment components and finally found this, which is so much better than the rest.
Thinks that I appreciate most:
+ possibility to explicitely chose, where to show the comments (many other components just allow settings where to hide them)
+ doesn't use third party database
+ simple but very complex (all imaginary options but easy to understand and no unnecessary bullshit around)
+ various templates to fit page design
+ handles great non-english characters
+ one click instalation
plus immediately after install it speaks my language ;-)

I'm a little novice in joomla (1 day experience) when i decided to add a comment feature in my site :D With this Extension is all easy and cool! I added custom smiles and customized the comment window.. in a few clicks! Really easy to use and powerful, and i found great support from the author site ;)
