That's the whole point of the plug-in. I've sent a request to the developer, but I haven't heard anything back yet. It does work if you go into the plug-in manager and hit save or apply, but I'd rather have it do this for me. 5 stars when the automatic back-up works.

This plugin works fine... except that all the accent are destroyed during the backup, and your backup can't be use.

Just installed this and seems to do all it promises, but I have one suggestion to make.
I use PDF indexer on my website and this creates a large database table which is essentially static (I don't load new PDFs very often) and in any case is easy to recreate if the table is lost. It is therefore a waste of time and bandwidth to back this table up every day. So I feel it would be really good if in the configuration the user could specify tables not to backup - I have hacked the code at the moment to exclude the table I don't want, but such a fix would make it even better.

after some try with older plugins on older joomla, at first install and first run and first admin page refresh, everything works well and even the upload of the backup via phpmyadmin was perfect

five stars, even six because it is free, if you sell it i'll buy it right away

This is an easy-to-use and promising extension. However I faced the following problems. And sorry for the lengthy review, but I faced these problems on several sites that I'm running, and I feel that I should report them so that the programmer rectifies the situation in the coming releases.

1. Although I entered the absolute path (/home/mysite/public_html/my_backup_folder), and the directory is writeable (755), no database is saved!
The check file is there is the folder, but not backup takes place.

2. The only thing I get is email backup, which is fine, except for the fact that it never backs up my database until I edit the lazybackup plugin. (Although I don't change any setting, I just need to click edit, and then save, and an email is sent to me with the database). If I don't do that, it will never backup my database.

NB:
- I set the plugin to backup the database once daily.
- "Make backup always on admin page refresh" option is set to "no".

3. I have a site that is in Arabic, and the database backup is a mess, the Arabic characters are saved as strange characters.

Thank you for this great plugin, but I was very suprised and sad when I wanted to restore because of don't work at all ! UTF8 is no supported....

Great concept, and should be simple but i can't get it to work right. Its creating backups but not sending me emails of the backups. Tried contacting the developer but there's no response...

what I apreciate most is that the plugin works without having to start a LINK like the JBackup plugin did.

a small issue is the default value for 'Backup path' which was set to root which didn't worked for me on my host. But nevertheless after fixing that small start-issue the plugin works just perfect.

This plugin worked out of the box. Just install and set the params, enter your email address, and voila, you start getting backups! It's that easy! Awesome Plugin. Highly recommend it to every one!!

For real, I love this component. I have used it on all the sites I have built, however, I have to remain with version 1.3 since the new 2.x version breaks my sites access to RsForms! Can't seem to find anyone else with this problem, but it has happened on each and every site I have done. Remove 2.x and install 1.3 and behold! Everything works Great!

Use JoomlaPack for total backup and LazyBackup for daily backup.

This plugin is the easiest and quickest plugin to use and get going. This is an asset for any website that has data.

for a busy site it is perfect , for slow site it is prefect too :) , thank you for this plug. Can u imagine if you are responsible for 5 busy website , i have notice something weird i have received the backup in my email box like 5 times , even i set Backup x times a day to 1, it seems like it stopped by now but i don't know after i finish this review i will get more zipped backups or not , however this it still 5 stars , thank you again

This is a plugin everyone should use. It saves me alot of time from manually backing up my site every day. And its saved online on my email account so I can't lose it that easily!
