this can be the best extension ever

ending the need to those community addons and really making the joomla sites popular

but it needs updating and as i see it tis dead right now...
From what I can tell by reading old forum posts, this was developed some time ago by a 15 yr old during Joomla Summer of Code... pretty unbelievable!

It sort of works, however, still some things missing. Sadly, the developer never really got around to doing more with it.

Even still, it is the closest thing out there for Joomla and Facebook...not even JFBConnect or JConnector have been able to push article content into facebook from Joomla yet...

So, still amazing and I eagerly await the changes Brainwires has spoken of making!
I was really on the process of writing a php code to display my latest posts on FB in a small app. I was able to get the code to run a jm module outside Joomla framework using joomla API. But with this app comes my cacke. The codes and structure of you project is fabuloso.. and I'm building mine using your app as a resource and will make sure to give you the credit you deserve.. Thanks
after some modification it just connect to the facebook , get the picture and other infos u want.
every time the user picture changes in the orginial facebook it is changing in vidogg too.

Installed it. Just cannot get it working only following the instructions. At last disabled joomla authentication plugin and the webpage start to appear in the facebook.
1) cannot change the template- changed the iframe plug and edited the php and related files- no luck
2) invite friends -just do not work.

There are others who have got this working. But is it very sad to see none of them taking 10minutes to put down what they did (extra) to get it right- well because everyone knows that the development has stopped there is not point in crying over it. At least people who got it working could help. so please share without killing the very spirit of open source.

This is a pretty good component considering it is only an alpha. It’s really too bad development seems to have halted on it. It does take some tweaking to get it to mostly function. As for those who want their own version of a template to appear in FaceBook what I did was replace the beez template with my own under that name since the program seems to only call the default or beez.

Wouls have given an excellent but I cant get all the little bugs out but have made it usable.

Would have given this top marks, but have a number of problems and can't find support anywhere! Can anyone tell me how to:

1. Display your current template in Facebook. When I try it defaults to the "Beez" template or the other standard Joomla template, even when I add my current template name into the Joomla Facebook module.
2. When I click "Invite friends" in Facebook I get a "can't find URL error".

If I can fix these problems I'll re-rate this component as excellent!

PS - The support option and the live demo links above do not work. They both produce errors.
The main problem with this extension is the lack of good documentation. It takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what goes where and to get everything properly configured. Once you do figure it out, it works exactly as intended.

The main problem that I see so far is that it puts your entire web site in the app. A more logical use would be to have app specific pages that only show up on FB, then the rest of the site for typical site visitors.

FYI - in order to get articles posted on your profile you have to turn the Box on in the application settings in FB.
this is a very promising extension, in my case i would say a very necessary extension, it seems to work well until you actually use it.

1. when inviting someone in facebook, it redirects me to apps.facebook.com/joomlatest don't know why... it is weird.
2. when an invitation is sent, and the person clicks visit, it is returned to the facebook homepage
3. the articles aren't being published in my profile.
4. the website isn't being pulled in the iframe completely, only the text of the article that is in my front page.

is there any chance this extension will be retaken and developed again?
The component is really good. Really removes the harsh coding if you want to do this the facebook way. My tip to users don't use the "here" link you get after installation but use the documentation link given here on this page. It explains how to do it.

Good application, thanks to developer..
Hope that there's an update for annoying "vertical scroll" that made the pages can't full showing all the contents.
I like the idea of this, it has installed well however I am not sure how it benefits the social networking on my community site. It would be great if there was a forum attached to the developers site where it could be discussed to help users understand it better.

I tested this extension on demo site. Very good.
I installed the extension to my website. It is OK. But the problem is on the FaceBook. I don't know, what kind of FB codes do 1 have to use in index.php .
And wich files do 1 need to use the extension?
Normally 1 created a FaceBook application and showed my website in FaceBook. But unfortunately there is no enough information about facebook codes.
Can anbody halp for this extension? I think many people will use this JoomlaFacebook extension.
Great work. Thanks to the developers.
