Turn your website into a Windows Live Messenger online. This component uses the webservice provided by Microsoft, so you don't have to set up anything. The default values are enough for the messenger to work fine.
Neither you nor your users even have to worry about the password or account name managing, because it is done via Microsoft gateway, simple and fast.
If you want to change the 'look and feel', just modify the default.css file (in the frontend folder of the component).
This component is still on its beta version, but the main functionality (the chat) is fully functional.

That's no messenger! Maybe you can call it chat, but not even that - not user friendly and buggy.
But most important - you can't use it to show webcams!
That's what would make a difference for this extension and unfortunately it doesn't.

I find this extension awesome!
Install takes a few sec, works flawlessy.
The contact list needs some more developement such as:
- Blocked status icons actually showing next to blocked contacts
- CSS editable through admin back-end
- Absolute need of the this extension to show msn contact groups (with expandibility option), and not just contacts in random order: if an user has >200 contacts, its too hard to find each contact
