Using mootools v1.11, this module allows you to have simple and smooth (cross-fading) slideshows. The script we use for this module is based on jondesign smooth gallery script.
Instruction:
Using this module is very easy. Just upload your images to folder media/smooth_gallery/ in your joomla directory. Those images will be listed in the module administrator and you can select them to be shown in the slideshow
If You have question or problem with the extension, You can contact me at : rezawhite@gmail.com

This is an excellent module, like those really good commercial extensions! I think the only add-ons would be:
- Being able to define directories for different modules.
- Option to get rid of 'more images' and 'go to picture' button
- Resizing the text band
Still excellent, though!

This Slideshow is really excellent. Lightweight and easy to install and configure (maybe to less configuration options). The biggest advantage on this Slideshow is that the loading time of the site will increase a lot, because it loads the pics in a very efficient way. I also use Gavick Photoslide GK3 and compared to this Slideshow it will only loads 10% of the Picssize. I found it out with the Web Developer Tool for Firefox (Information/Document Size).
But unfortunately the sideshow has two big disadvantages. The first one is the missing of giving a link a "target=_blank" function so that links open in a new tab/window. I have made this command directly in the default.php of the module but still not work.
The second failure is the noncreation of the thumbnails in the carousel block. In my virtual Server Xampp it works fine. But on my real Webspace the thumbnail creation doesn't work. I have set the rights via FTP on all folders and files to 777 but still no luck. Also my Hoster (a very good one) can't help me. Also the instruction from the Camp26 Forum that the Hoster should whitelist the resize.php script doesn't work. So in the moment i don't know how to get the thumbnails working on my webspace account.
Without these fails the module is really excellent.

I tried this extension on serveral installs and noodled a bit to try to get the auto thumbs to work but no luck. A better solution that worked out of the box was camp26's easy slide. Their is no support and you can not participate in free support as their registration takes you to a spam link page http://www.camp26.com/index.php?option=com_acctexp&task=subscribe&intro=1&Itemid=16. hmmmmmm
Great and simple module, very easy to implement, and does exactly what it says. highly recommend this module. Love it! Thumbs up to the developers.
