The list of Articles is based on one or more of the following;
• The first character of the Title
• Section
• Category
• Custom search term
Features :
• Ability to have many distinct directories
• Connect the component to a menu item. With custom parameter for each menu item
• List articles from a section or category
• List articles by alphabetical letter in section or category selected into the directory
• Sorting on items of contents
• Custom search of Title to obtain list of Articles (For example Display all Articles who's title contains the word 'solar')

Does what it says, clean and simple.
But to make the extra trick it needs to be able to publish the article with the right URL, at the moment it just publishes the articles with a "/component/content/article/118" url. So some extra work needs to be done!

Thank you. This is a simple component that addressed my issue of having a list of selected items from within a category. Installed first time with no issues.
A useful future feature would be to automatically generate linkable letters (A to Z)
