NinjaXplorer is the premiere file system explorer for your J1.5 website.

You can edit, upload, delete, zip, unzip and download files directly from your Joomla Administrators panel.

Very good extension, simple to install and works good
This is finally the last File Manager I tried that did what I needed.

I needed to be able to get the full file location ex: http://www.site.com/folder/image.jpg In the component I can by finding the file and just right clicking and copy shortcut then I can link from anywhere.

Every other File Manager as well as the built in one only shows /public_html/folder/image.jpg which is completely inconvenient for using external links.

Thanks.
Your product description look promising, zip, unzip and so on.

I tried but found out it does not live up to what had described.

Some problem when i tried:
1. It does not unzip. The first level directory was extracted, after that nothing happen, followed by an error. Error message was no meaningful. It only says that there is an error, nothing else.

2. Copy function does not work. Again, no meaningful error message was displayed. I used another joomla explorer and it works.

Seems like a beta version.
This is an absolute must have to any Joomla! 1.5 site.. can't imagine my sites without it.

Only suggestion i have is to make it easier to download.

Thanks a million
Great tool. Actually installs and works. Easy to use.

Compare with eXtplorer - which has had install problems unaddressed by the developer since last year and you will understand why I commented "Actually installs and works."

Seems to be faster than eXtplorer.
This is the first thing I install on a new site. Works like a dream, solves problems normal FTP can't and has saved my day more than once. Only one comment - don't let the client have access to it. They have a habit of deleting things. I usually install and delete as and when needed.
After having tried eXtplorer, QuiXplorer and this one, I think this one is the best. QuiXplorer was too simple, with no options to rename/edit files etc. eXtplorer is better looking and seems promising, but the installation didn't work from start (had to google for a solution) and the functions like rename etc also didn't work. Also good if you have used JoomlaXplorer for Joomla 1.0, and are used to that design etc. Not 100 percent, but the best right now.

I install on my site... I install a external module. On Joomlaxplorer I can`t change the chmod permissions, but with NinjaXplorer, I can do it!

Great work ninjaforge!

I would expect that a File Management component claiming to be Joomla 1.5 Native supports the built-in Joomla 1.5 FTP file access system. Nope.

Furthermore, this component claims to be a fork of the JoomlaXplorer component (which I have used for years and love), but it doesn't have one of the critical features of JoomlaXplorer -- the built-in FTP file access. Nope.

Since this component fails on two rather obvious assumptions, it also fails to meet my needs (and presumably, the needs of many other admins). The whole point of a File Management component is to let you manage your files within Joomla. Unfortunately, without the FTP layer this isn't possible on almost any server, unless you have thrown security to the wind.

NinjaExplorer works for Joomla 1.5.6 on Mac OSX 10.4.11 with Firefox 3.0.1

JoomlaExplorer needs the Legacy plugin turned on. Legacy extensions have never worked for me, but I need this capability, so I tried it one more time. It installed and opened, but then the very top menu froze. Had to use browser nav to get back to admin home.

Qui and Ext both install okay, but when selected returned server errors. JE and Ext were both grayed out in the components menu.

NinjaExplorer installed without any problems, it opens and it works. I am very happy with it.
After trying eXtplorer and getting some error "ExtJS library not found", and then trying to find any support for extplorer, I finally gave up.

I then tried Quixplorer and ran into a server error. I didn't even bother looking for a solution, after killing an hour trying to troubleshoot extplorer.

Instead, I figured it would be quicker to try another component first. Bam.... NinjaXplorer installed, and wow, it works.

I haven't checked all functions with it yet (that's why I didn't give it an excellent rating). But just being the only file manager that installed prompted a review.

This plugin worked like a charm until one day it though the root folder was the joomla admin folder, and thus becoming useless. Uninstalling and installing it again doesn't help.

The developer didn't answer my call for help, any idea?
