This component was totally worth my money. It's commercial, but very affordable, and polished for the most part.

I had a few small formatting problems, such as phantom width bugs re-arranging Joomla's columns and the sites global list bullets being used as spacers which looked terrible, but I was able to edit the template for that easily.

The column issue was fixed by upgrading to the latest version, as advised by JXtended's knowledgeable customer support.

This component also includes a replacement for the rating system as well as a VERY HUGE selection of social bookmarking icons. I appreciated both features.

Works really well, very easy to install and there actually is a video Demo showing you how to install as well. although the process is very simple, just install the library first then the JxComment.

Great work, clean layout, well worth the money...

This extension does exactly what it says on the tin, its great. The guides and documentation provided are very good.

However, the only major issues with this module is the ability to turn off certain features of this extension (ratings and social bars) in frontpage, section and category layout views. Not doing this can make a website look tacky and cluttered. This would make the extension very dynamic. This is something that the developer should think about for future releases.

Additionally, some of the CSS coding is not written tidy. It should be more clean, so that it can be easily edited.

Other than these two lacking feature the extension is very good and has a clean design.

I would recommend this to everyone.

I think this is a good plug in however I have disabled it on my sites due to an unforeseen problem.

When Google crawls my sites it sees Invalid Security Tokens as a result of the comments plugin. This generates 1,000's of 404 errors as reported by Google Webmaster.

Google in their typical response says it "should not" be a problem for ranking, but "should not" and "is not" are not the same. And they don't pay my bills. So I'm not going to use it.

The developer suggested I "nofollow" the lines in the code that create this error (Which is not their fault, it's Google). The problem is Google elects to sometimes see the "nofollow" and other times completely ignore it.

Until Google figures out how to treat their own "nofollow" attribute (Which they pushed so hard and now seem to be abandoning... I'm left to play it safe and forget about comments on my Joomla Sites... which is too bad because I really like the star ratings and social bookmarking features).

This extension is attractive, functional, and effective - its COMPLETE!!! What else can I say. Its perfect. For a meager payment/contribution I got an Extension that enhanced my website exponentially. And the minor support I needed by Rob (even though it was not even related to the Extension itself)is unmatched. Keep up the great work!!!

I looked at JXtended Comments way back in it's infancy... Even at that time it had almost everything that I needed, or wanted, in a comment system...

Coming back to it for inclusion in a new website I noted that all but one of my feature requirements were now present... So without hesitation a license was bought..

The only one missing was some form of integration into Community Builder 1.2... All I really needed was for JXtended Comments to use CB1.2 avatars instead of Gravatar... That and the ability to link back to a users CB profile page...

Well I'm happy to say that JXtended now has that feature... Not officially mind you... I've made the code changes necessary to get it working with CB... Perhaps not the neatest or most efficient way of doing it but it does work... Fingers crossed the code changes might make it into the next revision as an official feature... One can dream...

You can see the code changes needed in the JXtended forum under both the pre-sale and subscription section...

So if you were waiting for JXtended to add CB support then the wait is over... No reason not to go and buy a license for this wonderful comment system now :)

After trying a couple of "popular" (non-commercial) products and losing so many hours... I got the JX Comments, which took me less than 5 minutes to install and set up it!
Most important? It works perfectly!

JXtended as an organization in Joomla! are the best at what they do. I am impressed. JComments is simply great!

I had read about how good the jextended support team is in responding to support questions but I did not really believe it. In fact, the accolades seemed so heavy that I was convinced that they were planted by an insider. But, I did not want to pay a million dollars per site for JCom and, though the reviews were good on yvcomment, and I had downloaded it, it did not give me the same feeling. Maybe it too is good but I got a lot of other freebies with JComment and they clearly did a lot of integration work with this product. The more I checked, the more it appeared to me that the Joomla Core team had merely extended Joomla!. Comments to me are not just an extension. They are an integration without disprupting the expected natural rhytm of Joomla!

From the backend to the front end I am impressed. You must install a few other goodies from the company to make it all work but they too install as easily as a template. The free WYSIWYG editor for example appears to be a fork of FCK editor for Joomla but it works more even cleanly than FCK itself.

The ratings and the social links make it as modern a commenting system as exists.

The support team helped me get over my lack of understanding on some minor familiarity items and support and the product were both better than what my expectations would have been if I had high expectations. Some of you surely have experienced vapor support. That is what I expected. I was afraid I had bought vaporware but the deal and the feel of the product set was too good to say no to. The product is real and the support is unbelievable. And there are other products like Magazine and Content Manager that also seem to have the same notions going for them (I don;t use them yet)

I really mean all of this praise. it comes from a guy who til this point with every extension I test drove other than the CB trial, you would have had to color me disappointed.

From my support experiences with other support teams, I had many "no response" tickets and occasional apologies with "two-week-later-responses but no answer." That was my experience in forums previously when I was newer and needed more help. So, I had no expectations.

I have used top name templates from top named companies and even had one person whose last name is the company name promise he would send me my money back via PayPal and then when I asked for it back, he too disappeared.

So, let me add to the accolades for all the people at jxtended, especially the support team for JComments.

It is hard not to like Joomla! once you get its rhythm. Unfortunately, all of the extensions do not have such rhythm and many support teams offer no music at all. JComments has the Joomla Rhythm and I would bet a dollar to a donut that their other products are done just as well.

While I was writing this review, I kept trying to come up with a word that describes why I like the product and I think I just got it -- Rhythm. I just bought JoomlaRhythm as a domain name while typing this. No idea what I will do with it. But one thing is for sure. JComment has JoomlaRhythm.

I really like that they have not chosen to use the article interface in the backend because it would make it more difficult to manage what I have written and others have written for me as articles with the comments all mangled in. The interface is clean, intuitive, pleasant, inviting, and easy to work with, and of course, just plain wonderful. I would buy another product from this team of pros in a heartbeat.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The price was $30 but I can use it on unlimited sites. (Thank you very much!) The install is straightforward but I did have to go and download the free JXextended libraries plugin that wasn't included in the original install. Still, very good work.

Can configure which pages it will appear, turn on or off a number of features. Since I'll be using this again and again, it was well worth the price.

Well, I was waiting for Jxtended to launch as I knew they were components that would be developed by Joomla! Core team members. Worth the wait!
