Version 2 is available for download which allows you to specifiy several menus!
Also check out the beta version that allows to specify a template for each menu and a module to be displayed on each of the generated menu items!
If you experience any problems, please write us on our forum!
26.12.2008: new beta version available that updates the menu instead of creating a new one everytime. This avoids losing module assignments on update. As it is beta, please let us know any bugs you find!

With some additional work, this should be a part of core Joomla!
A lot of CMS sites are filled with content by front-end users and now their content can be found (almost) automaticly in a selected menu!
Even better if an administrator didn't have to "update" the menu in back-end, in order to make all the new menu properties visible...
But still excellent,
Thanks!!!

Thanks :)
If anyone knows how to trigger such a function after inserting an article, we would be interested...

On Joomla 1.5, I installed all versions of the product and never could get any menu to work, all menu items when set to automatic generated 404 errors in every test. After reading through all of the documentation, I realized that the installation looked nothing like and tutorial and the descriptions of what to do were also equally cryptic.

Works great, but I found one bug where the alias field did not move over to the menu from the section, categories, articles alias field. A quick edit of admin.automatic_menu.html.php and editing the 2nd ->title to ->alias worked for me on lines 130, 147, 187, 203, 237

should be fixed now!

Yes it does automatically generate a menu of all sections/categories/articles.
But even unpublished sections/categories/articles are all become published in the automatic menu.
Even trashed/archived articles are published, can you imagine how the menu look like?

Hello,
During our tests our component didn't have this behaviour... We'd be glad if you could help us finding the bug as this is, of course, not desired behaviour... So if you have some time, could you post to the forum or write us a mail about the version you're using?
Thanks!

Just what you need if you have a lot of categories and articles : just click update, you don't need to update by hand your menu!
Excellent, thanks!
