Seriously. If there was a higher rating than five, I'd give it! One of no more than ten extensions I intend to head over right now and throw some money at! Even if they don't give me anything in exchange. Worked right out of the box (Ok, so a lot of config has to be done, but all easily understood and clear).

I had some problems getting this started but with the help of the developer was able to track it to file permissions. With those fixed it works perfectly. Incredible range of configuration options and controls. It even allows you to save all the config settings when uninstalling to upgrade to a new release. One of the few free extensions I've wanted to pay for.

If you have a lot of files to upload to your Joomla website, look no further.

The first time I used it, it worked fine right out of the box. Then, on another installation, I bought the paid version (so that I could upload more than 3 MB at a time) but I had trouble setting the permissions. The developer not only debugged it for me, but added something to the extension so that others wouldn't run into the same snag.

Many of our clients choose to send files to us, we have searched high and low for easy to use solutions on both ours and the clients part. Switching from a static site with a specialized solution to a dynamic site was a big step for us, but we were dreading trying to incorporate our existing solution with a different authentication mechanism into Joomla.

I looked all around for a really good flash uploader for our site and this one is just fantastic, works right out the box with no issues. Had some emails for advice / upgrades with the author who is really great and very helpful, you really can't ask for more.

I checked this one first... and finally I checked only this one in this cathegory. :) Very easy to install and to use, works fast, looks good, so I didn't look for another solution.

I have a site where many different user should be able to upload and I needed different permissions levels too.
Joomla Flash Uploader gives me to control that some of my users can only upload while others can create directories and manage the files as well.
And this is possible without giving the users back end access.

Useful utility, that appeared to work well for the files I tried. However, it should be pointed out in the description that the free version is limited to a 3 Meg upload limit. It is approximately 10 euros for a standard one domain license.
