Second version of Last Update for Joomla! was specially designed to save server resources. Therefore it has less content selection(eg. by access level etc) possibilities, so it displays only one - exact last modification date, to all visitors, reducing your site and SQL server loads.
The code is optimized for fast execution according to PHP peculiarities.
Please take in mind that Joomla doesn't provide dates for other items(eg. categories descriptions, menus etc), so it's possible to get modification date only from content items.

It does what it says and what it was made for. However, there are things to be desired. For instance, time setting options should have been made available in the admin section instead of sending people to php website to do that. Someone very naive may not able to do that. Time offset setting to get updates in global or local time is a must. Or at least some tips on how to do that for people like me how don't have any technical knowledge. Lastly, let me repeat that it's a great module. Thanx for creating it :)

This is a really simple module that gets it right.
The only thing keeping it from five stars is that it doesn't post the last update based on the Global time.

Module empty, doesn't display last update. Deleted this module. Sorry.

It's the first report telling that our module(version 1.0) does not works. Make sure that your /modules & /modules/mod_lastupdate directories are not write
protected. If this doesn't helps, please contact the author.
As well try our new - 2.0 version that will be published right now.

I got this working in matter of minutes on a Joomla 1.0.x site.
This is great plugin very nifty. Looking forward to a 1.5 native version of this plugin.
