Simple Image Holder Module

Have you ever wanted to just put a jpg image or a gif animation without having to deal with the banners component each time you want to add an image.. look no further.. this simple module offers viewing any image (jpg, gif, png ...etc) (such as advertisements or announcements) in a module. the admin can resize the image to any size, he can also link this picture to any page, he can also specify how to open the new link (new window, or same window), its even possible to publish and unpublish the image according to dates!.. its an extremely useful replacement of the rather complicated (banners) component.

* simply place any popular image type (jpg, gif, png, ..etc) in any module position on your site
* you can link your image to a URL address.
* you can change the size of your image to fit your need.
* you can change the opacity of your image.
* you can add a (mouse over) opacity to your image.
* you can choose to publish and unpublish your image in a certain date, a monthly date, a yearly date .. etc

This extension really does the job. Fast installation, fast setup, great results!!! I'll no longer use banner module.

Suggestion : It would be great to get a setting for the image "title" tag. The "alt" tag only work with IE.

Hi. this is definitely a handy extension.
in the TO-DO list, may be worse adding the scheduling ability, so image gets automatically published and removed at scheduled dates.
if this is not too complicated! Thanks.

Currently doing my wifes retail site....
she has used a flashy template from gavick that uses an very 'slick' image slide type module....
when she asked for a single picture to be shown in a module position and wanted it to link to a page...
i said 'i'm sure there's something out there that can do this?'....THIS IS IT!!

This is a great little module. The only modification I would find usefull is a button to search and select your images.

as for the modification, i want to add such thing myself, but unfortunately i can't because of the module restrictions in joomla, to do such modification requires me to make a component, which will make this extension less simple and more complicated.

Easy to install. Does what it needs to do. Even a beginner (me) can do it.

Suggestions for later improvement:
- make it easier to add the image, for example as the editor does.
- it would be nice if you can add more images

Apart from those two suggestions, nothing but praise!

as for your suggestions, making it easier to add images is not possible unless i make it a component, which will make it even more complicated.
as for adding more images, you can copy the module as much as you can, i think it is better to do so, so you can control each picture's position

It should be part of Joomla´s core modules. Very simple to use, making the task of working with images very easy.

Thankyou for the module, it is simple and to the point.

One way to fix validation issues could be to put the style for the no border to inline for the image and close the end tag.

{$image2 = "";}

I validated this against XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

I like this module, but I think that code in mod_sih.php "img {border: 0px;}" should be deleted because that type of css doesn´t go inside body(validation error).

that was added in response to some complaints that the images had a border in some templates.. if you have another workaround, i would be more than happy to make use of it.
