In the new v2 release, we've re-written the phpFreeChat script so it uses MooTools. This eliminates javascript conflicts on most Joomla websites.
Register at our site to read more about it and to download the scripts.

Per i siti che ho creato è perfetta, ottima la possibilità dei messaggi privati.

It's a great addition to my website! The club loves it! For being free, it has A+ support, and is easy to install/use.
I had a problem with setting up the latest version, but within a few hours of emailing for support, I had a response with a solution! Thanks again and I will be sure to donate.

Download and install was fast and very user-friendly.
Customizing the templates is also a breeze. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a simple, easy to use and reliable chat interface!

I 've just installed: it's easy to do and to use it. Maybe just a bit slow, but it works well

I really like it. Looked at a few other solutions but in the end I liked jPFChat the best!
I am not a fan of the background, though... ;)
I just have been too lazy to change it myself. I'd had preferred a solid color, but hey, that's really a minor thing on a otherwise great component!
Thanks!

I am using this program for my school's website. I am very very pleased with the simplicity and usability of the program. I had some trouble with it, and contacted the support team. They were helpful. They even altered the code a bit so it would work on my site. Thank you guys! Great Job!

In looking for a chat client for my site I had a good read around of JED and it's various offerings and visited a few extensions developers' sites.
JPF struck me as a good product, well presented and with excellent support, so on that basis I installed it with no problems and it runs the same way - which would be an excellent outcome for a commercial product, let alone a freebie.
I'm more than happy with it.

I'm pretty much a rank amateur. I know a little HTML, and I have looked inside PHP files (very unsure of myself in them). I looked around for awhile at several others, but I kept reading about technical glitches and edit this file and that to get them working. I even installed and had to uninstall one. This thing worked straight off. No troubles. Very helpful product if you want to add very fast responding chat system to your site.

This is the best Joomla Chat component I have found. It might just be my setup, but it's a little slow to show chat text. Is anybody else having this problem?
Thanks a bunch to the jPFChat team! GREAT WORK!

I recently installed jPFChat 2-rc1 and version 2 stable on my joomla site, on both occasions when typing chat, no text would appear in chat window. So I uninstalled it and tried again, several times with no success. Several bad points about this are that admins can disable the rights of the main admin locking them out of chat. with no ability to give limited mod status to any members. it's either admin or user, no mods.
I think I might try a different program for the time being as this chat system needs alot of bugs fixing in it.

It's unbelievable to me that anyone would write a negative review without even asking for some support from us first.
I was longtimes looking for a chat for joomla 1.5 for the young people in my church. and it seems to be very good, until now i had no problems.

As previously reported, the performance is not great but it's not terrible either. For a free component, jpfchat exceeds my expectations.
The developers web-site has been redesigned and because of that there may be some documentation that is missing. There is a password that allows access to admin commands, but I can't find documentation on what the commands are or how to activate the admin. (very minor complaint, as I said overall this solution exceeded what I had expected)

As much as we try to say it, a lot of users don't seem to get that we did not write the phpFreeChat script. We wrote the component code to allow phpFreeChat to work seamlessly inside of Joomla. The chat admin commands (/ban, /kick, etc) are NOT a part of what we did. They are native to the phpFreeChat script, and full details are available from the phpfreechat.net website.
