VOTItaly Plugin

The "VOTItaly" Plugin by JOOMItaly is the evolution of the default Joomla! voting/rating system. The plugin is an eye-candy "star rater", which uses AJAX technology to seemlessly process your visitor votes on your articles (content items) without reloading the page. It's probably the coolest way to add voting functionality to your Joomla! website.

UPDATE 08/01/2009: released version 1.1. Some of the major changes:

* The plugin makes now valid XHTML 1.1 content.
* Fixes an Internal Server Error (e500) problems with some servers.
* Full customizable content rating description.
* New languages compatibility added (de-DE, es-ES, fa-IR, nl-NL, pl-PL, ru-RU, zh-CN, zh-TW).

This does what it says it does. straight out of the box. Great!
Keep up the good work people!

I downloaded, installed, configured and got this plugin working in under 3 minutes!

It was easy to setup and configure - nothing to configure really except disable the default content rating system.

I was worried that it would not work because I was using !JoomlaComment, and someone else commented that the combination did not work for them. Well, it worked for me. No problems.

Nice work guys!!
Great work, guys! The ajax-based star ratings are a nice improvement to the little bubble things that the J! core uses...classy. ;)

wish there was more abilities to make adjustments
Hello there, i am currently trying to use the VOTItaly plugin and it has been installed and everything yet i am unsure of how to get it to display on my frontend. I am having the same problem with every vote/rating plugin i try to install to the page. Should it automatically be visible to the content? or is there something else that needs to be set in order for it to be seen on specific content?

Your help is much appreciated.

Great little plugin, but it lacks to show zero votes as stars. So on category, section or front pages some articles shows voting stars but no stars if there are no votes. I wish you can customize it like on plugin "extravote"

I had been scouring the web for a good star rating system. Even built myt own using JS+AJAX. But this one is smooth and good.

Keep up the good work, fellas!

I really like this plugin. Don't forget to disable the deafult joomla rating plugin called: Content - Rating, otherwise you will get the default rating + this rating plugin above your article!

If you would like to change the language, just edit the en-GB.plg_content_ji_votitaly.ini file in you admin/languages/en-gb folder!

One of the nicest looking rating (or starring) plugins.
I would use this on all my joomlasites .... if it worked on all of them ...

But sadly there seems to be an issue or conflict with Joomlacomment?
On pages where the Joomlacomponent is active, it does not seem to work.

No issues at all on my sites without Joomlacomment!

I hope it gets fixed, because I would like to use this one over all other rating/starring plugins

Follow 3 simple steps and it works straight out of the box. Well done VOTItaly team! This definitely gets my vote of a 10/10

Best ratings plugin, but it misses some very important features. Like - how many stars to display, different stars templates. I hope we will see these features in the next release.

Yes, its a very nice plugin. I miss the possibility to select how many stars do you want for your ratings: 5, 3, 10. any idea to improve in that way?
Hi Luca,
Just wanted to say things for responding to my email so quickly. I had a question about how to clear the votes for when my site goes live and Luca responded with the answer (which happens to be to clear the jos_content_rating table) The extensions is graphically pleasing and simple to use. Thanks for this!!

Easy te use. Maybe it's een option to build in that the place of the rating stars is flexibel, like in de plugin extra votes .

I'm using this extension for a few days, and except it looks great, it's very functional.

I have a suggestion for guys from joomitaly - I'd like to see the option to hide rating (stars) from a blog view. Hope this one will be implemented in the future versions.
