UPDATE 27/08/2009: released version 1.2. Some of the major changes:
* The plugin allow now to limit the rating submission to only registered users.
* The plugin can accept periodical rating submissions from registered users (the interval is configurable in the plugin preferences).
* New languages compatibility added (da-DK, el-GR, pt-BR, sv-SE).
UPDATE 06/01/2009: released version 1.1. Some of the major changes:
* The plugin makes now valid XHTML 1.1 content.
* Full customizable content rating description.
* Fixes an Internal Server Error (e500) problems with some servers.
* New languages compatibility added (de-DE, es-ES, fa-IR, nl-NL, pl-PL, ru-RU, zh-CN, zh-TW).
UPDATE 01/07/2009: released version 1.0:
* First stable version of the "VOTItaly" Plugin released.

This is an excellent and simple plugin. It would be great if you could choose where it's displayed (ie at the top or at the bottom of the artcile)
I made very simple modification to show it at the bottom, but it may well be an option.
To the other users: If you have both the native Joomla ratings and this plugin displayed, just disable the "Content - Rating" plugin from the plugin manager.

it really does what it says! I was a little bit afraid to smash my articles because some others had difficulties with rating system after installing this, but I was a lucky one! it lasts few seconds to install and use and it looks really, really nice. so thanks a lot for this extension!
At the beginning i had a problem setting up the xtension as it used to show me both rating articles or it will not allow me to vote with the start. to be honest i am not an expert but I manage to solve the conflict . the only issue is that i dont remember how i did it to help you in case you mace face this problem.. good news.. IT CAN BE FIXES AND IS WORKING BEAUTIFULLY
I can't seem to find (or have been unable to configure, whatever the case) a voting plugin that displays the star rating both on the "Read More" version of an article and on the click-through. I would like users to be able to view the star rating before clicking on the "Read More" link. Kind of entices them to Read More if an article has a good star ranking.
This is a great plugin for voting on articles only.
I use Extravote, because I need more ratings inside an article. The problem with extravote is that a user can vote several times.
If you could make this like extravote so that you can with a tag, insert it on any line on the article, this would work perfectly for me.

Installation was simple. Usage is simple. Maybe he should make a mod that shows the top rated articles by this mod.

After installing and uninstalling several others, I got to VotItaly. Thank goodness!
It installs in a snap, requires no other Jquery plugins (like another vote plugin does) and does exactly what it's suppose to.
The stars are very good png's and look great on my site's black background. It's just a simple voting plugin... but it just works perfectly..... which is all I wanted.

Actually this is a very good extension: good idea, clear design, easy-to-use....could be anc Ecellent extension if only some major problems where fixed!
Actually googling around the net thousands of users, and I'm also included, after installing this extension are unable to use anymore the rating system, nither the native one, due to some errors in saving votes!
Even in reviews many other users reports the same problem.
So, please...fix it because it has the potential to be a great pice of software.

A simple plugin that beautifies and extends Joomla rating system.
There is a couple of solutions in the creators forum for positioning and controlling repeated votes.
Some other reviewers report that it doesn't work with JoomlaComment. It does have a little problem with one of the 6 templates (MT, from mootools) of JoomlaComment, but it is easy to solve turning off the "Include javascript library" in the comments backend or just using a different template.

i loved this plugin.. but it conflicted with my Simple Image Gallery plugin & i have a whole section on my website dedicated to my galleries so it was quite disappointing.
nevertheless this is a beautiful plugin, it works flawlessly after installation, didn't even need to configure a thing!
