If you knew, how many hours have been wasted trying to work with or around banner ads - then to install this extension and wham- first time its works- no issues.

This banner component works as it should. Finally a replacement for artbanners which worked for me for some time but was never developed any further.

One small issue. The links generated for the banners are not w3c compliant. Hope this is solved in a future release.

This was a pleasure to setup and use, especially after testing a couple of others that promised similar features but did not deliver.

This was easy to install, easy to setup and easy to add to the site. The duplication of the module for specific groups and locations of your adverts makes this a very effective tool and while you may have multiple modules you only need the one component and all the data is there easy to read and use.

So as per my title, highly recommend this one - well done to the developers :)

It's a good extension, it makes what is writen. But they didn't think on world expansion of the use of joomla. I really would like to do the translations, but I don't know if I will do it right on all terms... it's really a pity.

I originally had installed v1.3.2 which only worked in legacy mode for 1.5. The product worked well but like most reviewers it seemed that the developer had abandoned the project or was not actively supporting it. Just the other day I noticed that an update had been made and the product was now 1.5 native and included some minor bug fixes. They even included a content plugin that allows for banner ads to run inside of content articles. I happily went to their site and downloaded the all new versions. To my dismay after installing the new component, it did not work as it had before. I went back to the forum a few times and looked for some answers but could find none. I decided to look at their main site and saw that they had listed a phone number for support. I was not sure what kind of response I was going to get on the other line when I called, if any, especially because this product is offered for free. From the moment one of the owners picked up till we hung up (4 hours later) he troubleshooted the problem I was experiencing and everything is working as it should.

I am very grateful for the dedicated support I received for this product. My advice to all when using anyone's product, free or paid, if they have a phone number listed call because you may just be pleasantly surprised.

I was spending some time for getting a Joomla1.5 Banner manager module which works like ArtBannersXTD module.....

But if you are expecting support, or even a single question answered, good luck. Its as it the people just walked away from this project as soon as they released it. With the exception of 4 posts made in August 08, there has been absolutely no activity by the developer.
Other than that I figure out how to use it and it works ok, with a few bugs. It actually has a lot of potential as it allows very precise targeting of ads, but with no development I am afraid to use it on a production site anymore for fear of security issues. I hope they pick it up again someday, but for now it appears dead.

After reading the last review I was very careful on installing this. Followed your instructions to a T.. I didn't miss one thing. All I can say is WOW. Worked right out of the box and so perfect. It will resize the ads to the size I input. Blows me away. Very easy to install and setup. Thank you very much...

I just wasted an hour messing with this thing.
Installed it,(on my j!1.5.7 site) and tried to make a new client.. only to get a 404 error. Tried to make a new group.. another 404 error...

Went over to support forms to find a lot of questions without any answers. Having seen this kind of situation with other modules (ie: no support) I've decided to move on to look for a something else.

I used this component on Joomla 1.5 and it provides just the functionality I was looking for. Allows very granular assigning of advertisements to menu items, sections, categories, even content items. I'm Impressed.
The only feature id like to see is the ability to show statistics to the client from the front-end - Attach client name to registered user and have them see their banner stats at any point.

Love the fact, that I am able to control how many impressions a client purchased or the time frame a banner will be displayed for. Very easy to install and great documentation for the installation process!
