RSGallery2 Gallery List Module Module

This extension was developed out of a need on one of my sites for a quick, text-only (no thumbnails) list of RSGallery2 galleries. As it is my first attempt at writing a module, it is very basic. This version includes the following module parameters, which are set in the module settings in the back-end:

* Number of galleries to display in the list * Length of gallery description to display
* Sort order - users can select to show galleries in date order (ascending or descending), by popularity (based on hits), or by the order set in the gallery list in the component back-end
* Show a link to all galleries? User can define whether or not to show a link below the gallery list to view the entire gallery (component view)
* User can define the text to show for the above-mentioned link

Please note that right now this module will only show the names of parent galleries, not child galleries. If a user selects the parent gallery from the list, they will be taken to the page showing each child gallery under that parent. This module has been tested with RSGallery2 version 1.14.x Although registration is not required to download the module, doing so will ensure you can be contacted as new versions are published. Your information will NEVER be distributed, nor will it be used to sell additional products or services from Momentis Technology or any other entity.

NEW IN VERSION 0.8.1: (ALL of these changes were submitted by Lincoln Phipps)

* Date format exposed to the module Configuration to allow admins to alter (using default of Y-m-d as just about everyone is OK with that)

* Date field prefix (i.e. "Posted:" exposed to the module Configuration to allow admins to alter (e.g. non-English),

* Show links for guest/logged on now also hides the show all gallery link at the bottom (****some may question this change but I think it's logical****),

* XHTML (i.e. W3Cvalidator) and Joomla! SEO fixes by using JRoute() and adding double-quotes.

* Add back in Module Class Suffix,

All should be backward compatible with other sites.

In the future i would like to se a possibility to change the used font.

The font right now is controlled by your template CSS. If you wish help on this, please contact me at my website and I would be glad to help you out! We've all been there before.

Thanks!

It does a very simple task of adding some essential text-based navigation to the rsgallery2 photogallery extension. Note that I have some simple patches for module prefix and Joomla SEO handle (i.e. have added in use of JRoute) which I'm sending to the developer. When I place rgalist in the left-module position for menu link to rsgallery2 then I end up with a usable, navigable photogallery (obviously with my SEO patch to keep the URLs correct).

You're too modest! openmtl has added most of the really cool, useful features to what was an overly simplistic extension. Thanks for all the help!!!

Module is great! It was just what I was looking for and it made a menu out of my galleries so easily for me! I was new to joomla and rsgallery when I started, so I had needed support. The support was awesome! Very quick to respond and unbelievably helpful!!!!
Exactly what I was looking for! Can't wait for future features and enhancements.
