I use the professional version of jvideo for one of my social networks, at first I was a little bit skeptical purchasing a subscription for a component that is still in beta. However there support has exceeded my expectations! Ive had a few run ins with some errors and flaws with the component, but my issues are always resolved same day. They actually work with you and listen to your questions/concerns.

Oh and the fact that you are not using any of your own server space to upload/publish videos is fantastic. In this economy, I think their service is extremely affordable vs. some dedicated servers offered today.

This component is really impressing at first, or maybe not..
This is working very well of course since you use exclusively their server.

BUT:
you cannot add external videos with a simple click

you have 10gb bandwitch with the free version witch is like a joke when we talk about video streaming. Since you cannot add remote streaming, all videos will use those 10gb

we get like gb for 100$/month, witch is also like a joke since if you are willing to run a video site, 100gb is nothing too..

with this money you can rent a small dedicated server witch would do the same videos conversion but gives you a lot more bandwitch

I'm not the most tech savvy guy in the world. But I have used a lot of different resources for video over the years.

This is the best solution in so many ways for me and my companies. We have just about converted everything we do video-wise into this system, and it works great for us.

We also like the fact that as they see changes and updates that need to be made, they get it done.

Wow! great extension- i love the fact that you don't have to have flvtool2 and ffmpeg on your own server. However, I would like to see some different themes and the ability to customize the video settings. Keep up the good work!

I've used this product for 2 weeks, and I must say the video play back quality is great! It also provides you with ways to manage your own videos. But still there are too many bugs and disadvantages.

You have to upload video to their server, this may take 24 hours to have your video on your site. If you use too much bandwidth then you have to pay for it. Jvideo Player always stream from their streaming server even if you watch your video 2nd time, it doesn't cache on the PC. There are no STOP button on JVideo Player so your PC always streaming from the server even if you don't want to watch it anymore, PAUSE mode still stream as well. Can't play other videos besides from their own server, that means more bandwidth being used, and eventually you have to upgrade to pay account. You can't play video from other sources like YouTube, Google etc, that means to play video with other sources then you have to use a different Video Player (not Jvideo), that means inconsistant of Video Players on your website, one to watch YouTube, one to watch your own videos from their streaming server.

Anyway, I like the video quality, but uploading video to their Streaming Server takes time, sometimes upto 24 hrs to have it available on your website, that's just too long. Video only play in streaming mode, meaning using alot of bandwidth on the user's client side, and also using more streaming bandwidth, which will leads to pay account.

I 've tried all other video modules almost!! Only Jvideo can help me !!!!!!!!! Really thanks for Jvideo , Good job!!

When I decided to use this component I've encountered a few problem and I tought that this is too messy for a beginer to cope with.
But then I wrote a mail requesting support on my problems, with no great expectations, of course.And than these guys surprised me heavily.
I recieved a support email in less than 12 hours detailing and solving all my problems just like that.
Do I have to mention that all these problems eradicated from my wrong server settings (like cURL not enabled and such).
And for those who don't understand the concept behind this great initiative, just consider video quality and optional video branding(for a relatively low monthly fee) both features not available on usual video sharing sites.
To sum it up this is a great component with strong support and if configured right works like a spell.

very good and simple to implement tool. We required additional features to be added and negotiated a reasonable price to build the required features. this was done very quickly and professionally, most of the time waiting for me to test!

For those who want a video site, this is a MUST! One of the best extensions on Joomla! I am very very impressed with how well this works, the problem with some of the other ones is that they don't allow certain formats, but this one is just the one I need! Thanks for making this, I plan on making this the main video component for multiple sites! Does exactly what it says, I have had problems in the past, but once you sign up for your site, your all clear! Cheers Josh Lewis.

I really like this extension, i'm asking if they can give us a chance to store our own videos in our own servers, if Jvideos want to sell this product, better to fix an amount so we can buy it, i dont just like the way videos are store away from my site,Jvideos is quite good with a high quality resolution.

...in my opinion! Looks great, easy to use, support from Matt is brilliant. In terms of the size and quality of the video player, it blows the competition out of the water. It's still early days, so be mindful of the fact that many more features are due to be added. I'm looking forward to the next release 0.3.12 to see what new features there are. With regards to the pricing, it does cost a fair amount if you want the professional version, but the basic free package is more than adequate provided you don't want to upload hundreds of videos a month.

I really like the layout of this component but i think it would be much more useful for the user and more profitible for the developer if the componet could be used with your own server. The other video gallerys like seyret and hwd videoshare work awesome but i like the styling of jvideo beter. But because you can not use your own server i have to pass on this. If this were to change i think its worht 50 dollars with lifetime updates. For now ill pass and use seyret.

I think that it’s really neat to connect my cam and upload on the fly but please step back and give us users the control we want. I don’t like the idea having to store videos on the infinovision site. If you want something without being controlled then try seyret.

This is a great extension to get your widescreen HD videos up! Quick downloads! Most of the time, no wait scrubbing. Looks beautiful!

It's has it's own branding customization, you can get those lame YOUTUBE logos off of your videos!

Probably the best of the video applications for Joomla! if you want site-exclusive video. The gallery and search functionality are fantastic and the ease of use is great. There are 2 membership levels to start out with: a free account which gives you 10GB of bandwidth (wish I knew how much video time that translates into) and then a professional level account for anything greater than that, starting at $99 per month. The professional level is actually less expensive than most of the other video hosting solutions on the market today, and they don't boast half of the functionality that this extension has. Definitely worth a look.

This is great, I have been noticing more of a demand for a higher quality video content on the web for drift videos witch is no surprise because they look amazing, Now I can offer High Quality video support on a fan based site. The set up was easy and everything worked right out of the box. I couldn't be happier, Users are already signing up and posting there own videos and say the interface is excellent!

Well my judgement is a bit harder.
I realy fail to see what extra value this offers compared to other components that deal with video in general.
It surely has its limitations.
And when i saw what it costs to use it in full i always had a heart attack.

I found this componant quite confusing, and it lacks depth compared to other video extensions. Could be good with some development though.

JVideo is NOW one of my all time favorite extensions. Forget what you think you know about embedded video. This system does 10X more than any other video platform you could implement for your online community.

For a beta product, this is a pretty comprehensive set of extensions. I was able to get super fast high-definition video streaming through a custom branded player to work within about 20 minutes of installing it. We are now converting our entire video library to JVideo as now our branded player links back to our site!
