I needed to test a site yesterday and needed to create over 3000 users to test load balancing issues. This nifty little component created over 3000 users in a matter of seconds. Absolutely perfect! Keep up the good work. One thing I would suggest is the ability to modify and rename the names/emails that are generated. Also with option to add pictures, but this is just a wish list. Otherwise A+

Today I tested JLord Users Generator component on my Joomla! 1.5.7, I think the author can do something to improve it.

Let's see a feature reqeust from one of the members on our Chinese Joomla Forum:

He is building a website for a college, he want to generate a lot of users, each for a student. But the problem is: the username must be the Stubent ID Number, not the Name. The password should be the same as the username. The email can be anything since it will be modified by each student himself.

I noticed that you had fix the beginning portion of the generated username to jlord_test_user. And we can't control the dynamic portion either.

So, my suggestions are:

1. Add a new option to allow user specify the fix part of the username, for example, we can use 2008 instead of jlord_test_user, because the Student ID Number always start with the year number. Of course, we can also leave this field empty to disable the constant part of the username.

2. Add a new parameter to let user specify the start point number of the dynamic portion, maybe from 1, maybe from 00001, maybe from 999, just let us control it.

3. Add a new option to let user specify the increasing or decreasing direction and step length. Default is increasing by 1 for each step.

4. Add a new option to exclude certain numbers or characters.

5. Add a new option to print out the generated usernames, passwords add emails, one user one line, then we can cut that paper and send each user info to its owner.

Rarely I write a review, most of the time because i'm dissapointed about an extension. Now i have to write a very positive review because this extension deserve it. Most of the webmasters don't know the importance of testing a webiste and how hard it is without having the proper tools. This extension is gold because I can test my website with millions of users registered and see the possible flaws or any perfomance issues. If you can add other features like adding unlimited content, links and so on this extension will be a must have for any joomla administrator. Tremendous help for any webmaster.

I believe guys that you are the great newcomers that will bring a lot to joomla. KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!
You should give their extensions a try. It's really amazing, how all have been thoughtly designed, executed and packaged ( the pop up, media manager,phplist bridge and most of that, the translator extensions that are automatic. Check them out!
