Track Outgoing Link Plugin

You want a simple plugin that inserts automaticaly a code to track all outgoing links ? Here is. Google Analytics provides a solution to fix this problem by inserting for each external link an javascript action onClick. See the solution in the official help of Google. This trick, completely transparent to the visitor, will enable Google Analytics to record these clicks on outgoing links. This plugin helps you to add the code in your articles. You will find the results in your Google Analytics account, in Top Content Report. Notes: You must have installed on your site Joomla the Javascript code corresponding to your Google Analytics account (with a component or directly into your template). This plugin just creates a tracker (to track clicks) on outgoing links only in the content of articles. During your first tests, you should wait 24 to 48 hours before seeing the first pages appear in your statistics. But remember that you may have blocked your IP in Google Analytics, in this case you will not see your clicks. This plugin can be used with Joomla 1.5 (tested with Joomla 1.5.11). This plugin - Track Outgoing Link - was created by e-dijon.fr. To install it, go to the party Extensions -> Install / Uninstall, then add the zip file below. To access the settings and activate the plugin, find it into Extensions -> Manager plugins.

This extension does not work for links inside SOBI2.

There is also no support available, and no documentation other than product description. No contact link on the site, and no way to get help or ask a question.

This is an excellent plugin which seems to be spoilt by non-compliance with W3C standards. This can be fixed by changing "onClick" to "onclick".

I don't know if it really works yet but it's installed. The settings under the Plugin Manager>Content - track_outgoing_link are as follows:

-Path
-Download Path
-Download Extensions

It's unclear as to what each of these settings do. I can't find a contact page on the author's website.
I have J!Analytics installed on my website to facilitate Google Analytics. The installation of e-Dijon's plugin for tracking outgoing links went in seamlessly.
What's more, that's all you have to do. You don't need to add javascript script (onClick=”...) for each outgoing link - the plugin does everything for you!
First class support - first class plugin!

I am running Big Shot Google Analytics and JCE-Utilities for popups. Track Outgoing Links works automatically with Big Shot Google Analytics.

There was a small conflict between JCE-Utilities and Track Outgoing Link in v1.0. The author rapidly fixed the error when notified of the conflict. The current version 1.2 appears to be working well.

I am very happy with this product and the support.
