Component as Content Plugin

this plugin will enable the admin to show a component(s) within a content item, so that the user can show multiple components on a single page, also it will be possible to show components on the front page along with the site's content items

the plugin code is:
{comascon}url{/comascon} .
where the url is your component, WITHOUT index.php?
So the code must look like this:
{comascon}option=com_yourComponent&Itemid=50{/comascon}

the plugin is based on (component includer) with the following added options:

please read the ReadMe file (included in the zip package) to learn how to do the following:
* you can specify custom width and height to each component
* you can also change the background color
* you can add a css file to style the component.
* you can enable or disable scrolling for your component.

If you like the plugin, please take the time to write a small review or at least vote for it.. any suggestions are welcomed..

-----------
#Change Log for 1.5.2#

* The user can add an additional css file from anywhere in the web.
* This version is incompatible with previous versions, please read the readme file (located inside the plugin's zip file) before installing the plugin.
* Fixed an issue where a notice appears if notices are enabled in (php.ini)

-----------

Downloaded it. Tried for days to make it work. Sent mails for support. Nothing. There is no support. Very nice idea, but that´s as far as it goes.

very good plugin. It does what it says, thanks for sharing it !!
This appears useful if the component you are wrapping in an article has no component links. But I tried to wrap a Community builder user list with it so that I could have access to the Print/PDF/Email icons. When I click on any list navigation buttons (next/last/etc), it shows the entire website in the frame. I did it again in the window and got yet another frame within the frame within the frame... Gee, I'm gettin' dizzy.

Had to remove it.

Very nice plugin! Just what I needed. One thing I'm seeing happen on my site is when it first loads the page, the component that I embedded into the content initially shows up black, then loads the white background color that I specified. Anybody else have this issue? Little help would be appreciated!

hi,
this is the way the plugin works, it loads the css and the background color via javascript after 3 seconds from page loading.. you can change this by editing the plugin's php file, find and replace 3000 for whatever time you think acceptable, like 500 for instance, and see if it works out for you..

thanks for the top rating :)

I wanted to link to Kunena on a content page. It works fine when first loaded but if the user hits one of the tabs, the component as content box refreshes showing the complete header of the site (that is everything that would show if I hit a menu item for the forum). Suggests or a work around would be appreciated. Otherwise, this shows lots of potential.
This was a very good plugin. It helped me embed some components with content, which I otherwise could not obtain the visual effect and functionality I needed on my clients site using Joomla.

hi it is good extension but i have a problem

component opened in frame that is not required and when i click on component it is opened in frame and
top menu ,banner ,logo ,main menu...etc/.. are in frame it is not required so please help how to opened only component

it is requred please help me
thanks
I searched and tried other plugins and found this one. I took about 10 minutes to work around the fact you can't use SEF URLs. I need SEF for the site so I recommend getting the non SEF URL of the component before using the plugin.

I use a CB registration form and had to use the non SEF URL "option=com_comprofiler&task=registers" to put my registration form in my article page.

I was still able to keep my SEF option on.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Hello, this is a great extension, exactly what I needed for getteing my remository component into an content article.
I modified the size the bg colour settings and everything is perfect except a little thing:
I needed to set all my SEO settings to OFF otherwise I will get a 404 error.
Maybe I just don't know the trick and how to handle it correctly.
I would like to have search engine friendly links again, so may be someone here has an idea for the correct settings?
All in all: very good component, thanks for your work!!!

Five seconds to install, five minutes to test, five-star rating. Just one minor complaint: it would be nice to have the readme file embedded in the backend plugin edit page. Overall, excellent job.

Five (Thank you)s for your great review :)

The extension works as expected however it does not maintain the background of the template (big white box where the module is displayed, the module actually retains the background if run by it self),

It will be great if it can be added as a parameter similar to height and width
Owner's reply

now, in version 1.5.2, you can set the background color, in addition to css styling and auto-height feature..

God, I never expected this to happen! with just a simple like of code! Especially, i have done a wrong step in the beginning and unable to get it, i mailed Omar, and he is such a nice person to respond within hours of time!
And I resolved the issue, !! now it is up and running like a Miracle!
Thank you very much Omar Muhammed

This is perfect! I've used various insets in articles to get somewhat desired effects, but this makes life so much easier! Thank you!

A quick side note, I used the OpenInviter component with this and was really able to dress up what functionally is fantastic, but visually need a lot of work. You can check it out at http://www.foodcreate.com and click on the menu item "Be Popular - Invite Friends" to see this plugin in action.

Thank you so much again! YAY! :-)

thank you for the great rating :)

This little plugin has been a lifesaver for me! It does exactly what the title says. I needed to include a shorter article within a longer one, similar to a sidebar article or a callout, and this extension was perfect. My articles' "read more" breaks don't seem to work, but I have no doubt I will be able to figure something out in short order.

Thank you very much for writing this great and useful plugin!

glad it was of help to you.

Does exactly what it says it does! Isn't that all we want from components?

The component which it is based on works great too. But the ability to specify the dimensions of the iFrame was a necessary update.

I like this. I've been using CKforms, and haven't had a way to put the form in an article, until now.
I need to figure out how to change the appearance (width, background, etc) a little...but!

This is looking a very useful little plugin.
Nicely done.

PLEASE!!! Add the feature loading the component's CSS files with the component.
When this is included, the plugin would be really awesome and simple!
Great job!

five stars for an excellent idea which saved my day.
never mind the codes :) they can be adjusted to suit.
wish i had thought of this, ah but then, wish i had thought of many things in life :)
Owner's reply

thank you from your kind words and great rating :)

The idea is great, and many are in need of it.

My problem is that it ignores the template CSS and everything is just seen as plain text. I need it to keep the styling of the component.

A godsend and very useful plugin but unfortunately it is not working with all the components!!! (like alpha content ..it load only the footer)

I test it with some others on the other hand and really worked!!!
Hope for a better support with alpha content in the future ...

Thanks very much
