this is very good thing, i have tried it directly with ION CUBE package foundry.
but - can you make it up to date ? there is 1.5.15 joomla more than one week released.

This has made installations on my host server a real snap!

And just yesterday I asked in their forum about an upgrade to 1.5.4. Today it was there!

If you want to make your installations a breeze, look into this.

I have never installed Joomla before, but have installed other system that are php-based. This product made the installation of Joomla almost totally hands-free. I would recommend it highly for anyone installing it simply because you don't have to guess, most things are done for you with a few simple prompts. The only drawback as installing it on a "safe" php system. It didn't set the directory permissions quite right, but that was easily fixed with a telnet session.

I've had so much grief with trying to upload a Joomla install via FTP. The FTP software just can't handle the complexity and depth of the files and folders that comprise Joomla.

This app makes it so easy, especially as it's been updated to the latest Joomla 1.5.1. Can't thank the author enough!

After this newbie tried numerous times for 2 days to install Joomla manually I had enough... Before giving up I tried JoomlaDesktop Installer and before I knew it Joomla was installed.
I was sooo happy I nearly cried.

Most web hosts work fine with the direct-install utilities, that download and unpack files remotely.

The one I'm working on right now? Nothing would complete! Every single auto-unpacker left the subdirectories empty. I don't know what specs the host has (it's for a charity who refuses to let me host their files for free because these jokers offered a long time ago... some people are set in their ways) ... but it won't set permissions on the fly unless directly contacted via FTP. Even the FTP method of Joomla! Downloader didn't work.

Frustrating to say the least.

JoomlaDesktop Installer Utility WORKED for me! Finally! Now I can help this client jump into the 21st century with a CMS... and more than a CMS... they can have JOOMLA!

Although other server-to-server copy the files much faster (less then a minute), this application not only copies the files but also in the right way. I can recommend this to anyone being frustrated with broken ftp connections, time outs etc.

this made installation a piece of cake, almost too easy. def a helpful extension.

This program allows you to skip the hassel of downloading the install files and then slow ftp back up to your site using software. My original install using Dreamweaver to remote FTP install Joomla took me 30 minutes, using JoomlaStart Desktop Installer it tool me 5 minutes. Unfortunately the fantstico installs had wierd SQL issues which was why I was re-installing anyway. This worked well for me.

Already installs Version 1.0.10 [Sundown]. I first trusted this group because the JoomlaCloner worked so well for me.
