This component is a fairly decent component but could do with some improvement, the biggest problem is support, support for this component is woefully lacking. Believe duaneh (previous reviewer) he is telling the truth, I have personally experience issue with not getting support from the designer although I have paid for component, I've sent numerous emails requesting help and his only response was to send me an out dated manual! He has ignored numerous support request for almost two months now!
P.S Please note I was not requesting customizations but seeking fixes for issues of inconsistency in the coding, for example whenever no price is listed for a vehicle the system should show "Call for Price"
but it is not implemented consistently throughout and shows $0.0.
The lack of support has caused significant headache and have delayed deployment of my client's website.

Thank you for your review. As replyed in previous reviews, our forum is outdated, and because of that our support is mostly done by email. The email was replyed (not instant, true,but it wasn't 2months...)
As for the "bug", the price show correct in car details, only in the listing,showed 0.00.
We would also like to refer that the review was for Autostand 2.9 (J!1.5)

I purchased this component from Autostand last year, and it started off fairly well. But as things progress, it becomes troublesome, there are several issues I need addressed and response from the autostand forum is dead;
I'm now looking for a customer php developer to assist me with making this component work, as it's far too late to backtrack and find something that actually works.
Maybe the developer will respond in this forum,

Thank you for your review. Since last year, Autostand as lot of changes/upgrades.Since updates are free, you're welcome to update Autostand. As notice in our site, our support is done by email.We had some delays in the replys, and because the support is free,we reply to all the emails in the same priority. Since Joomla is moving on, so is Autostand, and we're already using a beta version running in Joomla 1.7.
We can't create the component according the user needs, that's why we only anouce what it can do and how it works.

I created an account just to write this review, and will be doing so with other extensions because I'm sick of poor coding practices with extensions I purchase.
The biggest fault of this extension is the fact that the templates it comes with are actual Joomla templates. Do not expect to integrate this in a pre-existing site or template and have it look good. You have to use their full site template. It makes no sense, so now I'm spending extra time making it look presentable. I know I can't expect it to look perfect with my template out of the box, however it is completely broken.
A second problem with the template is that it is built with tables. Every part of this component, and it's included modules, are tables. This is not acceptable.
Another problem: none of the tables, rows, or columns are uniquely named. I cannot use an external stylesheet to change various aspects of this stylesheet because nothing is given a unique class name. So now I'm going through the view files and adding my own. Why should I have to do that when I actually paid money for this?
Lastly, the way image uploads are handled. You have to go to a separate screen to upload images, which is fine, however it dumps everything into one huge dropdown. Lets say you have 100 cars with 10 images each. That creates a 1,000 item dropdown list that you have to go through every time you want to assign a new image. Also, there is a character limit to the file names, however it is not mentioned anywhere.
I'm not going to give this a "poor" rating because it does work, however the coding behind it is dismal. The authors need to read a book on coding practices and CSS before they decide to sell another extension.

I created a website this summer for a dealership in USA. This application works fantastic. I was able to change everything to suit my needs and when I needed help, customer service is spectacular! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to build an inventory based website.
This is a great product for a commercial website. It does require some existing knowledge of coding if you plan on doing a lot of customization to it like I have.
There are options that you have to change in the code to get certain things to look right if you are not using one of the default templates. Some of these options could be better defined in the backend.
Translation features/Language files could be better designed for the backend.

Nuno has been the best at handling my questions via email and has been able to resolve nearly all my problems and locating specific items to fix on the component.
I recommend purchasing this because the product is customizable for all situations (not just cars) and the support is there. They are also working on a website redesign and that can only mean more support and options for Nuno's customers in the works!

Autostand is joomla component to build a car web site of the most easy, as easy as click and ready! With a good customer support system and the coding is not encrypt so it easy me or anyone to customize the component .
Systems offered are user friendly and meets my needs as a builder's website. It meets all the features needed to build a car web site.
I highly recommend to anyone just to get this component. I give 5 stars out of 6 stars.

I recently buy the component , i have no issues for install it. The component is very intuitive for develop a car, boat motorcycle, truck, etc site.
The only Thing for a posible improvement in the future is that slide module show hot offer also and not only random and new listings

no help and no support whatsoever, just got my money and ran and can't get it back. beside wasted my time trying to customize anything.
i see some people giving it good rating and that makes me wonder. their forum is full of thousands of questions without one reply, no phone number and goodluck getting an email reply. beleive me it is hit and run extension

Thank you for your review. But before you write such reviews, have you AT LEAST tried to contact us first?We may have 2 days delay in the EMAIL reply but no email was left behind. The forum is supose to be a place where users change ideas/solutions but the support is done by email, and as you can see from other reviews, it works.
Final note, in the money part we can't seem to understand it...It's not our policy "get the user money and ran", and then return the money??!
But ok everyone as an opinion,but could you next time be a little more honest in your reviews for other extensions?

the component is exactly what I needed for my car sale site. Installed fine and worked straight away.
It needed some minor adjustments, which I had to ask for support. They got back to me immediately with a solution and not just once. Great support, thanks guys.

I purchased this extension after a complete test on the demo site. We tried all the functions to ensure that it would be suitable for the site we had in mind. We determined that it was indeed what we were after.

Next step, we purchased the software and received all emails and instructions within minutes.
Here I can see where the negative review came to play, because you have to read the documentation and follow the instructions exactly. It looked quite encumbering but with some common sense and patience we systematically worked and planned the entire site using the information provided.
The Extension even comes with templates and cool components, how nice is that.
We did have 2 minor issues where we did not find a solution in the forum. I contacted the developers via the website and they came back with detailed answers within 12 hours!
I gladly recommend this component without any hesitation, we had a complete production site up and running within 1 week, with numerous dealers logging onto the site and uploading vehicle stock without problems.
Every site is unique, hence, use your common sense or get your web developer to assist you is you have no clue as to what exactly to do!

Only after exhausting the above options should you even consider trashing a product that works very well.

I bought Autostand for a Truck Dealership website. The component was easy to install, easy to configure and even easy to customize for trucks instead of cars. The component gives simple back end access to the language files to change to any product you want.
There were a few custom things I wanted and they got back to me very quickly with solutions, including custom code.

Bought the extension for a website I am creating. It is really good and helpful. Works as it should, if not better. I had some troubles with my templates in IE and Opera, but I blame it on the templates and they were tiny. The support is great, have not ever experienced better help. Worth every Euro spent on it. Really recommended.
So far this extension is pretty good. There are many options to choose, and i like the uploading of up to 12 images at once. Everything seems rather simple to use as well. But one thing that is a big issue that im trying to figure out, is that my lightbox isnt working. At the moment whenever i click on an image in the gallery, it opens the image but on a separate blank page, without any lightbox.

Thank you for your review, but maybe we're missing something here. "Autostand.net.::" doesn't show, maybe you're confusing with Your Company, wich can be TRANSLATED in the language file
YOUR COMPANY=Translation
What could happen is when using language files, wich may contain the YOUR COMPANY= Autostand.net because it was done for our demo site.
Even the logo and url at the bottom can be removed in Settings--> Show Logo: Y/N
We really don't know why users post reviews, when a simple search in our forum or a contact by email could solve this.

It is quite good.
But uploading files separately. Then choosing 15 times for 15 files for 1 car is a terrible time-waster for me.
I have seen other photo galleries that can choose multiple files and then upload all at once. This should be upgraded and improved asap.
