The best event extension I've ever tried.
Simple and clear.
I really hope that the new version for joomla 2.5 will come soon, because i really miss it!
Hope also that it will be possibile to import data from the old version...
Thanks from Italy!

Please, Joomla really needs this extension for its latest versions. 2.5 ist about to start and I already miss SimpleCalendar in my 1.7-installations.

But one feature seems to be missing in the current version: there should be an option which makes events disappear when they have passed in the calendar-view. Thanks a lot!

SimpleCalendar works like a charm. Simple to understand, install, implement and use. Even for someone like me who was making her first site.

This has been just the calendar for my sites. It provides maps and contact links. It is well thought out & looks good. I frankly find the grid-style calendars available to be restrictive, ugly and annoying for periodic events so the list style here is great.

Now if only it were available for 1.6+. Due to security issues, I'm having to upgrade my sites to 1.7 and there are just no calendars available that work like this one does.

I started working on a J1.6+ version last week but it seems that the change isn't a smooth one and will need much work. It's in the pipeline, though - follow the website to keep up to date with all the news

I´m a little bit lazy to write reviews but this component worth it.
As the name says, it´s simple but very efficient on showing just a list of upcoming events without all the complexities of attendees control, registration for the event, payment, etc.
The possibility to separate by categories gives a very organized way to present events.
Two things I would love to see added to this component:
- the possibility to write comments for the event by the attendees in order to help others to decide about future editions of the same event.
- a calendar-like view.

Anyway, congratulations and keep this good job. As soon as I get some money from my site, surely I will make a donation :)

It is as simple as you can get- every step of the way, there is that nice little 'information' icon. And, wait, there's more! it generates RSS feeds, so for your in-a-hurry visitors, you can display it as soon as they are on your site! I could not ask for it to be better and look forward to other extensions by you.

This extensions claims simplicity and that is exactly what it provides - with a few bells and whistles for those who can use them. Considering it is still in Beta it is rock solid and although I encountered a couple of very minor issues, I am certain that they are related to the template css rather than the extension.

I love the Google Maps feature and the simple front-end layout. I truly hope the developer is encouraged to keep working on this because it has massive potential and with a couple of minor enhancements it could be the best of its kind.

Excellent Extension and many thanks - well worth a donation!

Easy download, easy install, easy configuration (however a simple tutorial would be helpful). This module looks good on my client's website.

This is the only calednar I can so easily configure to fit my needs - especially the appearance.

And, I think, to mark it as ver. 0.8 is definitely an uderestimation.

This is very nice component. One of the best that I found... But I have some problems with attaching files... I cant attach PDF document... I tried it on few servers... the same... When click on Apply or Save... nothing happened... I think that component trying to upload file (according to the time which passing after clicking on Save) but nothing happens.
Another bug is that when you edit Event and you already have attached document, when you click on Save or Apply, attached document is removed.
It would be better if we could choose uploaded files from list instead of uploading files.

Anyway... Component is very good and rocks lot of commercial components

Hi fragolan, the attachment issue was well known and has now been replaced by a plugin to the excellent Attachment component by Jonathan Cameron (also available here in the JED). Please head over to the forum to read all about it.

I've tried a number of other calendar modules for the 'events' section of my site, and this has to be the best. It's very simple to install & set up, and easy to add & modify events.

I like the layout of the calendar pages, and the previous/next mod is perfect for the front page.

Excellent work! Thank you :D

Very easy to use, very powerful! Thanks a lot.

Just had an error with Joomfish integration. To install it, I had to comment in the if condition in install.simplecalendar.php (Last lines)

I really like this component. I like the way it displays the events on the initial page. It is very powerful in what kind of information it provides, all in all, a fantastic starting point to a really great product.
One thing I would wish for is the Community Builder plugin to list the submitted events of the user.

Thanks Fabrizio for so useful and complete calendar.

If you accept, here you have a couple suggestions:

1. - A module for calendar looking with "bold" days if there's an event.
2. - Show the Google Map underneath the event (currently you have to click on a link). Is it possible to choose the "zoom" size on the map.

Anyway, thanks again.

This is the only calendar I've found that presents your events in ascending order (in order of date) that is SIMPLE.

I've never left a comment before on anything on here because i'm too lazy, but felt compelled to do so now.

BUT....PPLLLEEEEASSE make it so that people can upload their own flyers/pics and it won't show as attachments but just show up automatically? I run and that would be perfect!
