This is promising, but it is a bit quirky. The component seems to assume that your download files will be images and tries to create thumbnails from them, and so it struggled with my PDF file.

A really simple, streamlined download component plus mambot would be fantastic, but this one is not quite there yet.Give it a few months, and it might be, however...

This package is written in Italian, and unfortunately, I can't figure out where ot place the downloadble file associated with each entry.

I also had to duplicate the language file to english.php and feel my way through translating some ITalian to English.

Would also like to know the number of downloadable hits.

Otherwise, it's a very cool component.

This is a very nice component although I did not like the fact that I needed to register before I could take a look at the component.

I think this is the document download component I was looking for, as I can place just a thumbnail of a document for the Site Visitor to view prior to downloading the document.

A "mambot" would be nice to allow a thumbnail image of a document to be placed inside of content which would act as a download link to the document with the Admin options of placing the image or a link as well as an Admin option to list how many times it had been downloaded.

Nice component.
