EventList Popular ComponentModulePluginLanguage

EventList is just that what the name would lead you to expect. It's not a calendar but an easy way to manage and present your Events for your group, company or community. EventList offers a lot features and possibilities which makes your work easier, like the Venue database, Picture resizing and much more. But also for your site visitors EventList has some additional features to offer, like a simple registration system, map service links, or the submission of new events and venues from the frontend as well as frontend editing. Additional modules are available.

After trying many events modules this is the one i used for my new website : http://www.hkwodo.com/
The only limit is to be able to enter only a venue and a categorie and not a team for each events.

EventList installed without pain, it works like charm and haven't encountered a single problem since first installation. You need to make a link for Eventlist or it gives some PHP-error reports.

Overall I'd say; I'll recomend Eventlist to anyone who needs to inform their readers of upcoming events.
I searched a lot, and there are just very few eventmanager avaible.

This one works best for me, but for me it lacks some important features to get 5 stars:

* User registration for non Joomla users (I solved this by adding a link to simple caddy)

All again, this plugin works like advertised, and it works well.
Really, this component rocks! when I read the other reviews here (pretty dissapointing that some people wrote support type reviews for issues I had seen in the forum), I felt I HAD to write one myself! Eventlist is FREE & Christopher Lukes has done a fantastic job with this component... I just noticed another component released on joomla extension that boasts that it has features that no other joomla calendar has... (for 59 euros!) Well, thats correct somewhat, at the moment.

I had a need for a calendar that had multiple categories incorperated into it and I'm sure I am not alone. I would suggest that those that are looking for this feature as well as a full page calendar, recurring events (that works!) and more..., look no further than this component! These features are currently in the developement build of eventlist (which has always been available to the public BTW - read the faqs!)

Hopefully more people will become involved with this new developement version and contribute to the community - I'm sure you will not be disapointed.

- Good luck to the other developers that want to charge for a component that does not even come close to this one.

My thanks again to Christopher Lukes and the developement team at Eventlist for spending their valuable time to provide a full featured calendar to us all, for free.
Hi to all :)

Evenlist is a great tool. It enabled me to build an event planning tool which allows users to add/modify events and organizers to add locations like theaters, recordingstudio's etc.

I found no dutch translation for this tool so I made it myself.

This is ok but the frontend doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8... its easy to say don't use IE8 but really, millions of people do so compatability is q must.
The problem is with the 'lightbox' effect... it loads up the venue choices as a page rather than a lightbox popup.
I kinda works when compatabilty mode is activated but will all uses know how to do this??

Hope it gets fixed because it looks like a good component.

This extention is nice and useful in many ways. I like it. But I miss a few opportunities:
- Nice that you can enter new venues from front end while entering a new event. It would be even better if you could easily return to the event you where editing without losing what you have already entered.
- Also - I can not get the registration opportunity to work - but at the moment I do not need it...
Very comprehensive tool. Users can use any of 7 different layouts to view events. Also users can a filter to list only events of certain types, or at certain venues, etc. If your company sponsors public or private events in multiple locations, or of differing types, this tool will help your users target only those events pertinent to them.

Good extension, even better if:

- you can make a component view of it (i.e. so that there's a big calendar on the main body of a page)
- if you can make it so that people could bulk sign up/cancel for events via this view (and/or via the list view too, maybe using check-boxes?)

Good work all the same - I understand how it is to develop for free!
The Eventlist is perfect for Community websites. Users can easily add their own events by filling out one form. This extension was easy to install. It has lots of configuration options and lots of ways to control those options. The only problem I found: there was no obvious way for users to Add an Event. The icon was teensy weensy and unmarked except for the hover flag. So I replaced the tiny icon with a nice big fat attractive button that says ADD EVENT, and that solved the problem. Everything else is very straightforward. This is a very nice extension.

This has been a godsend for my page. The only thing I am having difficulty with is that the repeating events do not repeat (maybe a bug in my download?). Otherwise, as a free extension it is one of the best I have found. Easy to install and use.
I found this tool a long time ago, but really didn't have the opportunity to use it properly until I was asked by my Dad to do his choir's website. The result is excellent. Add eventdirections and nextevent and this thing just does it all. My Dad understood it instantly and just said "Wow!".
I just added this to my site last week and it works like a charm. Great for users to be able to add their own events without having to send everything to the administrator.

I've used this module on a few sites over the last year. For a Free Extension it is fantastic.

Thanks Guys for putting your time into developing. It just gets better and better.

One tip for newbies - your module won't work unless you make a menu for the component.

I dunno what mesquiteman was on about. The developer is not getting paid for this - so its up to the community to support each other. His post was answered the next day on the forum - which I think is pretty good.
I downloaded and installed Eventlist and really like the software. I ran into some problems such as not being able to choose a venue from the front end, even with proper permissions, as well as a problem with the time displaying off just a little. On the time issue, if I enter 13:00, it displays 13:03! The database has it as 13:00. I have not modified any code (wouldn't even know how!)and this is the latest version as of the end of March 09. I asked questions on both issue in their forum and to date have not received any substantial help. Not a word from the developer.

I realize this is open source and you get what you pay for but I would even be willing to pay for the darn software if it would work and be professional. Showing a time as 13:03 is just not acceptable. I am now looking at RedEvent and hope that they at least provide a little support.

... the best component to manage events in J! 1.5. Easy to install and configure. Good CSS-Styling and a lot of features to show events in different views. Thanks - very great Job!
